iPhone System Data includes “caches, logs, and other resources currently in use by the system.” That’s why clearing the caches on your iPhone is a good place to start. A cache is a bunch of files apps use to speed things up. For example, cached files in Safari speed up the web browser. Apps like Safari cache files so they don’t need to download them over and over again.

Many apps, including Snapchat, Twitter, and TikTok have caches that you can clear to free up System Data on your iPhone.

Removing unnecessary saved files, like dictionaries, fonts, and Siri voices, will also help clear iPhone System Data.

  1. Hey guys – great videos – some super helpful tips – I have like 100gb in system data that I’ve been trying to delete – if tried many different techniques like you’ve mentioned – I used my phone to do a bunch of screen recordings and so the photos cache stored a bunch of the data there and as far as I could see there isn’t a way to “delete photos app and reinstall it”

    Any help would be awesome

    Thank you in advance

  2. The most important thing these guys say as far as I’m concerned anyways, and this info is absolutely correct, essential to understand and hugely important!!!! Is an iCloud back up does NOT contain all that horrible system data that nobody needs or wants, it frees up tons of storage doing a full factory reset and using iCloud or ya Mac to restore from a backup!!!! That’s THE main / best way to create storage and it’s super easy to do. These guys are the only ones who actually make this point clear, coz as they said loads of other utubers have absolutely got it wrong and do not understand what iCloud backs up and doesn’t!!! So many people online make this specific issue over complex for god knows what reason or they just don’t have the correct info. Anyhoo these guys are right re this!!!!! I just did mine and it all worked beautifully and created TONS of storage!!! So happy..

  3. I am not a tech savy , reason why Iam watching this video. I ride bicycle a lot so I always find stuff on the streets like AirPod charging, credit cards, wallets, cellphones you name it. I was wondering if I could restore the iPhone to factory settings without knowing the previous owner password by connecting it to iTunes. I went to the Apple Store to ask but they said it can’t be done. does it mean the iPhone is useless.? What exactly is jailbreak and who can do this if the Apple Store can’t?

  4. Worked on iPhone to reduce, I gained 2.9G on the iPad though ¯_(ツ)_/¯ . Think it’s also important to inform people what deleting Safari search history will do. It deleted 14 years of history on my Mac – I guess the setting carries across to all devices in the Apple ID?? I didn’t want to delete all my history on the Mac!

  5. I’ve gone from 90GB system data (on 128GB iphone) to just 9.59GB with iCloud backup + Restore (nothing else worked from this video)

Best tip though and usable phone again 😊
