the humidity and temperature sensors according to the apple advisor is not available on the homepod mini even with the 16.3 upgrade.
Your iPhone must be on 16.3 to see these sensors in the home app
Reading 3.5C (6F) higher than the thermometers around it, and the speaker hasn't been doing anything. Sometimes it's only 2C (3F) out though so that may be why it wasn't enabled originally.

Trick is getting them to update. Pain in the ass. Toggle the Beta thing in iPod settings. Then go.

Where is that timber stand from?
So I have multiple HomePod mini (4) in different rooms but on the Home app I can only select one room for the sensor to appear on my device (kitchen or bedroom…), makes no sense? I really was hoping to use them as fire alarms since you can change the temperature level but there is no option for sending alarm text message to owner and family members, just the usual automations, wasted opportunities.

Love the update. Confirmation tone is so much better than siri literally saying “the bedroom light is now off.”

So I downloaded the new iPad are but my HomePod mini isn’t showing the temp/humidity in the Home app. Am I doing something wrong?

HomePod does NOT require the 16.3 firmware for tell you where your friends and relatives are located (distance and location).

It’s been calibrating for a good 10 minutes 😱. Definitely digging the updates which should resolve several issues.

Update; the sensors have been calibrated, but I call BS on the temperature, I have no heat upstairs and it’s definitely not 64° there, it’s cold AF ;-}
The Find My part, can you ask Siri (on the Homepod of course) to ring your iPhone?

I’ve had Siri since day 1. I could not imagine that 10 years later it would still be so glitchy.
It needs motion detection to justify having one in every room, then it could work with the thermostat to know what rooms have people and what the temp is

Very good video, especially for beginners like myself. IMO, the blue Mini color is the absolute best. Such a shame the 2nd Gen does not have any other color but the standard white & midnight. If the new release had the fresh colors I would purchase the $299 immediately.
Awesome video! I just received my HomePod mini this afternoon. Set up was a breeze. I don’t have any other smart home accessories around, but I really like being able to transfer audio from my Apple TV over to it when I am watching Apple TV content or other applications on my Apple TV box. That’s the main reason why I bought it was to use it as a Bluetooth speaker at home.
No new Homekit architecture fix it seems
