ZWIFT IOS BETA UPDATE

An update to the Zwift iOS app that makes gestures and using the app on the touchscreen a lot easier. I run though the three new interface changes in the latest beta released Oct 25/26th 2016.

  1. Shane, thank you for your videos. I've watched many related to Zwift! Running the app on an iPhone 5s to tv via Lightening. Using the app on the tiny iPhone screen is challenging, today I built a workout on the desktop app because doing so on the iPhone would have been near impossible. I try to use the Mobile Link via android for some of the features that the iOs app supports because the screen is so small and zooming is not an option.

  2. Yes, I would love to have iOS version. I'm still waiting the delivery of my first trainer, so no hurry. I could hook up the trainer to my computer, but iPad or iPhone would be more convenient.

  3. Using it and like it, have it on an iphone7, but need to connect to a TV now I have the full options. Great to know about the double tap :).

  4. Can us Android users get some love? Also, the ability to Chromecast it to my TV screen would be nice, it would save me from having to lug my desktop computer to the TV and plugging it in.

  5. I will get Zwift for the first time when it comes out on iOS. Release it soon please! Currently using TacX smart trainer with TacX software. Zwift would really allow me to get the sessions on this winter in prep for Spring races

  6. Tempted by iOS version but I don't have a tablet so would have to buy one. Cheapest one that's supported is the ipad mini from the looks of it. However since I upgraded my gaming pc I have a half decent gfx card lying about (GTX 570) so could just buy a fairly cheap cpu, motherboard and ram and build up a small pc for zwift for the same price or even cheaper. Not sure what option I am going to currently go for.

  7. its that time again when my phone needs updating and if the iOS zwift went into general release I would move over to iOS.
still looking at the pixel at this stage tho

  8. My computer can't run Zwift. I have a Stages power meter and an iPhone 6+. If zwift allow me to get on with my iphone I will. I'll never spend much money to do it because I hate cycling indoors. I do it 1-2 months a year under protest almost. But Zwift looks cool and I'd love to try it. If not it's back to Sufferfest videos and Trainer Road.

  9. Any super secret Lama hints at Zwift for AppleTV 4? The tvOS is effectively IOS and it has the same A8 processor as an iPhone 6 so porting should trivial. Built in HDMI, BlueTooth, etc – seems like a complete no-brainer

  10. I wasn't selected, will be using my iPad Pro when it is released. However, the biggest issue for me is my new bike having through axles (12mm) and my trainer using a qr skewer. Any thoughts on what trainer I can get?

  11. I'm running Zwift on a low end 2011 laptop, so really crappy resolution. Cannot wait to use Zwift on my iPad. Will I be able to connect my Garmin HR strap or will I need a BT adaptor?

  12. Android users…

Come on Shane. That was evil. Oh well, that just means my wife has to use her iPad and I get to use the PC and TV 🙂

Also both her and I are waiting for iOS release. That is probably the biggest thing that is keeping us from getting our second trainer so we can ride together. No sense in dealing with a second PC, second monitor or TV, or whatever when she can just use her phone or tablet soon enough. Not long after the release hits, we'll be adding a second trainer, mat, and desk to our pain cave and be able to ride together. Will be great next summer when it is 115 degrees out in the afternoon and neither of us is able to get up at 3am to beat the heat. Misery loves company after all. So we can suffer at the same time instead of taking turns.

  13. Would like to start use iOS version, since my laptop is old and I don't want to replace it just for zwift. Plus I could mount my iPad Pro in front of me while I ride or run it in TV from phone 🙂

  14. Waiting for it !!
Will use it on Iphone 7 and iPad. The I can finally stop carrying my Macbook from ant to work just to ride Zwift 🙂 .. also work sometimes, too 🙂

  15. Great little update vid Shane. Thanks for spending your time to keep us in the loop.
Now it is time to make some difficult choices for Zwift iOS:
    1. iPad Pro vs iPhone7+
    2. Neo vs Drivo
Do you have any recommendations, keeping in mind that I won't be using any external display?

  16. How do you feel about sweaty fingers and the lifespan of your device? Obviously ensuring your iDevice is not directly in the path of falling sweat is reasonably easy, but having an external screen and the iOS device to the side is not much different than running it on a Laptop as a use case. But then i suppose the iOS platform means users don't have to invest in the high-graphic spec pc/laptop in the first place.
