  1. This is on macOS build 13.0. I am hoping this is only an isolated incident but the way the industry is moving, I doubt it for long. Comment below if this happens to you during an upgrade/update or clean install and what build you have

  2. We upgraded from 10.15.7 to 13.4, and the same thing is happening on a users 15” Mac Mid2017 model, we are able to boot into safemode (Hold Shift while booting up) but any other method states that the critical update is needed before it can continue it needs an internet connection and never connects. A First Aid scan indicates there is corruption in the boot drive, and to perform First Aid in Recovery mode. But I still don’t think that’s it. I’ll have the user sign in to their Apple ID, in case that is what it needs to proceed. I’ll reply back if either of those work. But good video content, thank you for posting.

  3. Same thing with me with 13.2. I think because I didn't do erase content and setting it ended up worse for me. I actually erased disk, booted from my bootable usb, it gave me zero options except to connect to wifi, and then it just went ahead and downloads the whole os from the internet instead of installing from the usb. Worst. Definitely got to test this further.

  4. So yesterday leaving work I created install media for Ventura to install on a 2020 M1 Macbook Air and left it to install from boot options (formatting the local drive)… It started, 104 minutes remaining etc… I only had the power plugged in and a single USB-A to C adaptor (no ethernet). Get back to work the next day and I see "An internet connection is required to install macOS. No available updates found. Please try again later. – About 52 minutes remaining" And I thought it was perhaps just an Apple silicon thing. It's not a big deal, but I usually leave Mac's or PC's to reimage while I'm away, usually offline using a fully patched installer.

  5. I noticed too. It needs to get activated for some reason. Even when I have wiped the system, I was using the 16" M1Pro. It still needs activation.

  6. I’d like to know if you think Apple is becoming more like Microsoft used to be? It seems now that they’ve gotten so big they aren’t interested in their customers opinions much anymore! Especially when a lot of people think Ventura is a step backwards!
