The first thing to do when your iPhone won’t turn on while charging for a long time is a hard reset. This forces your iPhone to abruptly turn off and back on again. It’s possible your iPhone’s software has crashed on a black screen, making it appear as though your iPhone won’t turn on.
If a hard reset doesn’t fix the problem, try charging your iPhone with a different cable and charger. You should also clean out the charging port of your iPhone to make sure there isn’t any lint or debris stuck inside.
The last step you can take to completely rule out a deep software problem is a DFU restore. This restore erases and reloads every line of code on your iPhone and installs a fresh version of iOS. Before putting your iPhone in DFU mode, make sure to back it up first!
