The processing chip in your next mobile phone may be produced by Intel! Intel has returned to the mobile platform again. Unlike the previous self-designed design, it has teamed up with ARM to be responsible for the foundry. The first wave of products is expected to come out in 2024.

Intel today officially announced that it has reached a cooperation agreement with ARM, the wafer foundry department, and will work together to use Intel’s 18A (1.8nm) technology to produce chips. The first wave will focus on mobile devices (SoC), and then expand to automotive, data Center, aerospace and other fields. According to the product roadmap released by Intel earlier, 18A (1.8nm process) technology is expected to be ready for production in 2024.

Compared with the early design of its own chips, Intel focuses on the “chip foundry” business, such as TSMC and Samsung, which are mainly responsible for the production of chips designed by companies such as Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Apple. In fact, as early as 2021, Intel announced that it would cooperate with Qualcomm to produce chips through 20A technology. Why the related products are still unknown.
