Google’s new products are leaking again! A Reddit netizen claimed to have obtained an unreleased flagship Pixel 8 Pro test machine from the Google development team. Compared with the previous generation, there are at least 4 places that are different, suggesting that Google may have upgraded specifications.
The netizen not only showed the pros and cons, but also turned on the engineering mode to show the hardware specifications. There is a sticker on the back that says “Zuma”, which is the same as the development code of the Google Tensor G3 chip. In addition, it is equipped with 12GB from Samsung’s LPDDR5 RAM memory, and 128GB storage space.
The Pixel 8 Pro uses a “flat screen” on the front instead of curved surfaces on both sides. The back cover is suspected to be made of matte glass instead of the glossy material of the Pixel 7 series, which has a better touch and anti-fingerprint effect. However, some netizens believe that it may be just a protective case, and the actual material cannot be determined.

Foreign media “9to5google” pointed out that from the leaked photos of Pixel 8 Pro, the lens module occupies more space than the Pixel 7 Pro, which may imply an upgrade of the photosensitive element. Now the three lenses share the same set of cutting blocks. The one on the right is a square periscope lens. According to previous news, Pixel 8 Pro will switch to Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2 wide-angle lens and Sony IMX787 ultra-wide-angle lens to increase the area of the photosensitive element, which is more conducive to low-light shooting.
Finally, under the flash on the right side of the lens, there is a mysterious silver sensor, suspected to be a brand new “infrared temperature sensor”, the specific usage is still unknown.
