GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Benchmark | Diablo IV Beta

#diablo #diablo4

In this video we’ll be testing the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti in Diablo IV (Diablo 4). This is the early-access BETA, so we do expect quite a few performance issues in this version. However, the VRAM and system RAM usages are out of this world, even at very low resolutions, which does seem a bit strange.

Diablo IV is the fourth installment in the highly-acclaimed Diablo series, if you don’t count Diablo Immortal, which you shouldn’t, and I personally really look forward to it’s release on the 6th of June 2023.

Diablo IV supports DLSS version 2 at the moment, and DLSS 3 Frame Generation is reportedly available in the retail version. This is quite an odd one for me as the only GPUs that currently support DLSS 3 Frame Generation are the 4070 TI, 4080 and 4090, all three capable of doing 120 frames per second average even at 4K in Diablo IV. Perhaps they are anticipating gamers to make use of DLSS 3 Frame Generation on the upcoming 4050 or 4060 GPUs, but it seems unlikely that these would be able to provide playable framerates at 4K, considering that their VRAM would probably be 8GB. Anyway…

  1. I know the beta is down, but I just want to say that disabling Dynamic Shadows substantially improves FPS and frametimes, alongside uninstalling the High-Quality texture pack. Besides removing ~42GB from your install size, it also shaved off 6-8GB of RAM utilization for me, and I have a 1070/32GB DDR4. Just a heads up for when it launches!

  2. Oh we all can tell that your not real diablo player because no matter were you are in the map the monster follow your level 9 not going to kill level 25 monsters you should know this lol your not that good the monsters are the same level you are if your level 9 monster are level 9 if you level 34 your monsters are level 34 only the bosses can be higher lol

  3. Very helpfull thanks! Excited to see whats happend in the last open beta this coming weekend 12/5 to see if this has gotten better. Cosidering buying either 4070ti or 4080 but on the fence atm for how much power I need for light gaming….

  4. Def the beta isnt optimized well no matter the settings no matter what you do the game had micro stuttering and stuttering and even with people with a RTX 4090 with changing setting had issues. This isnt crysis 4 its not that demanding

Hopefully this gets fixed but untill then im grinding out season 28 / paragon in diablo 3 just be on the safe side if d4 is a bust + its going to take many patches before d4 is even playable. With that said one of my goals is to do GR 150 in d3 so im on the grind

  5. Problem with me (4070ti) was the game ran at 100fps but it would stutter. DLSS Quality would lower usage and get rid of stuttering but then its not really 4K (which you can tell). I still had stutters no matter what texture settings. I feel like until games start putting in frame generation, you need a 4080 for 4K 120fps, perhaps a 4090 if you really want it to be consistent all the time. People did say 4070Ti wouldn't be enough for 4K, but I assumed playing at 100fps would be fine, but for some reason 120fps locked looks totally different to 100fps.

I don't know why you're saying DLSS3 is pointless when 5 seconds before you were getting less than 100fps. DLSS quality and Frame generation are totally different – one lowers the resolution one doesn't. Just one other thing I feel like this game should not need such a powerful GPU, I think it should be way less demanding. When in-doors the performance is definitely lower, but it seems like lots of enemies on the screen don't affect it so I don't know what are the main factors affecting fps.

  6. game have problems,i see on reddit guys with 24 gb have problems,1 guy post they use more than 23 gb lol,we hope they gonna fix that problem before release!

  7. Lowerering the textures to medium and shadows to High helps alot. I didn’t notice any difference between 4k and 1440p it still behaved the same. The fix was textures on medium and shadows on High instead of highest. I have a 4070 ti.

  8. Thank you for the nice, practical test. I'm gonna check it out it myself in open beta. Most important thing, that they need to get rid of those stutters. You can bare one here or there, but you can't have it constantly to diminish the gameplay enjoyement. Anyways – good work, keep it up =]

  9. I'll hold on buying this game and wait to see how Microsoft deals goes on, because I have game pass ultimate, otherwise I'd bought it day 1!
