DON’T BUY A TESLA UNTIL YOU WATCH THIS FIRST! Pros and Cons of a Tesla Model Y One Year Later

TESLA PROS & CONS 1 YEAR LATER!

I’m back and more nervous than ever to break down all the new things I love and hate about my Tesla after driving it for one year. I know a lot of Tesla lovers have had a VERY different kind of experience driving their own Tesla’s, so I do have to say this is MY experience with MY Model Y and I hope that most people don’t have as many issues as I have had. If you’re thinking about buying a Tesla Model Y I would HIGHLY encourage you to do a lot of research, and make sure that you’re comfortable with having some unique challenges that you may not have had with a gas vehicle. I also have heard that people who have different models (Model 3, Model X, Model S) have not had similar issues, so make sure you’re specifically researching which model you’re interested in. Oh! And I also heard a rumor that if your Tesla is made out of the Texas factory actually has a better build quality than the Teslas made in the factory in California. So, perhaps you will have better luck with a Texas Tesla, lol.
Let me know if you want me to do another video like this, as I do STILL have Tesla tips and feedback that didn’t make the cut here.
Also, feel free to drop any questions you have down below in the comments as well as I try and answer ALL the comments that I can!

  1. Lucid is so better. Lucid goes longer ranges. And It goes from 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds. While Tesla just goes from 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds. Tesla only has a 200 mile range. Lucid travels up to 375 mile range.

Any Tesla Model can easily catch on fire as they have multiple times.

    Lucid is more recommend.

  2. Bumpy! You live in the desert 😢deserts are always bumpy.

Connectivity, again you live in the desert😮

Girl! no company would ever make you happy.

  3. I've had my 2022 Tesla Y Performance Dual Motor for over a year now. No issues with the wheels/tires (I have the big rims). It's not just a weight issue – performance tires on big rims aren't always patch-friendly. (Audi eTron weighed less, same Pirellis and pretty rims – not patch-friendly. I rolled on the donut spare to the tire center and got a new one). My driveway is a long, gravel road.
I'm in the PNW, so the greenhouse roof isn't an issue very often. I wish that roof could open. I still tinted everything.
Definitely has that sporty, tight, "feel-the-road" handling – it's not "wafting" over bumps like my Escalade. (It's also not a mortgage payment at the fuel pump, because obviously). The less-sporty wheels and standard tires would really improve your golden retriever's comfort as others mentioned.
Early on, experienced a small handful of connectivity issues that seem to have resolved themselves, so non-issue here.
It's stupid that the screen doesn't have the ability to tilt toward the driver, and lacks responsive "buttons" to help a driver in a bumpy-arse ride manage the screen as needed at 60mph. I've seen an after-market mount that will tilt the screen. I haven't tried it yet.
The always back-ordered key fob needs to be standard…seriously. My car's charge-pad charges my iPhone FAST. (I remove the case.) AMEN regarding the after-market accessories options. My floor mats wrap the whole interior and look sexy as heck! Regenerative braking is also in Rivian, which has some serious air bags/suspension for that floaty ride. There's also a doggo setting in the Riv, FWIW. #FellowPetParent
I'm happy w/ my Model Y. Buying it was EASY and painless. I just plug it in and go. And that bio-hazard mode has been a godsend during all of fire/smoke season. The seats are really comfortable. The instant torque is pure joy. That sound system in unbeatable. Truly. The goofy toybox and other fun features are pretty amusing. Honestly, watching Netflix in a hospital parking lot because of Covid protocols at the time kept me sane and calm during a 5-hour wait. (Everyone is okay.) I like that I can keep an eye on my car, pets from the app, and that my car can be located via that same app if there's an emergency. I spent more on fancy rigs that gave me more grief and recalls and remorse. So far, so good here. Wishing you better luck!!!

  4. First off, Love your Golden! I sold my Model 3 after just 1 year. I loved the car but couldn't take it anymore & the final straw was bringing it to Tesla Service & them having the car for 7 days while not touching it for 3 because the tech assigned to my car was off! The doors closed like a 70s Chevy, the fitment was terrible, the ride was too harsh, & even though car was tinted it was hot as he'll in the summer even with roof glass sunshield here in FL. It also had a propensity to jerk off to the right in AutoPilot if there were a couple of lines missing in the road or randomly slam on the brakes. After a year it developed a rattle in the front end that Tesla claimed they couldn't figure out h that was the last straw along with the constant price cuts. I bought a Kia EV6 GT-Line the day I sold my M3 & couldn't be happier. Ride is smooth as silk, car is lightning fast, beautiful red didn't cost $2k extra, has its own 'almost enhanced auto-pilot' which works similar but every line on the car is PERFECT & there are several ReGen choices including IPedal which will slow & stop the car like Tesla.

  5. First 10 seconds makes you sound so conceited. Shaming people for liking a car and then acting like you're better than them. Then shitting on the car while trying to get referral clicks. Pathetic.

  6. Holy shit did you really just start this video with "this car sucks but you can use my referral code to buy unnecessary tesla shit"?! How transparent can you be.

  7. HOW DO U NOT KNOW THERE IS 2 USB C CHARGERS IN THE CENTER CONSOLE?????? DO YOU OWN YOUR CAR?! DO YOU EVEN LOOK AROUND YOUR CAR? TELL ME YOU ARE A TYPICAL DIMWIT WITHOUT TELLING ME YOU ARE A TYPICAL DIMWIT. Also, there are button lights right at the coat hangers….are u blind? holy sht you are those typical girls who buys a car, drives it and knows nothing about it…..wow….

  8. Good video Erin , not a fan of the Tesla’s, I hate the minimalist approach to the Teslas , no spare tyre and jack for a start is just bullshit, no instrument panel directly in front of the driver …. Seriously WTF !
The lack of knobs and buttons for items that should be knobs and buttons , again , just BS imo.
No interior grab handles on the roof pillar to assist entry and exit ….. screw the old people and people with physical challenges ay elon😉!
Imo these things are going to be the dung boxes of the future.
You couldn’t pay me to own one.
I love my old Toyota , I walk up to it , grab the door handle , it Auto Unlock’s , I sit in the car press the start button put my seat belt on , select d for drag and just drive , no gimmicks , no BS , I service it once a year and it doesn’t get a spanner put on it in between , it just goes , I check the oil about once a year because it doesn’t burn or lose oil( I love this car) , I fill the fuel tank too 100% every time , I run it down to about 10% and spend 5 minutes filling it up once per week and range issues do not exist for me , and in ten years time the range will be not much different to what I am getting now.
You couldn’t pay me to own one of those electric dung boxes.
And for the fan boys saying you’ve never driven one , a family member has one and I’ve driven it , yes it has some good things , but it has a bunch of things imo that are not good and a deal breaker for this little black duck.
