  1. Thanks for sharing your first impressions. I'm in the market for a new phone. Honestly, it was time – I've had the same LG since 2017. For now it's a battle between the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold5 and the more I see the Fold5 the more it's winning that battle. At first I was a bit apprehensive about the idea of a folding screen, but the more I see it in action the better it's looking.

The overall form factor – the ability to expand to a bigger screen when needed and have a narrow screen for actual phone one hand tasks like taking calls – is winning me over big time. It fixes the two major issues I've had with modern phones. The phones and screens being too big making them awkward to use with one hand. At the same time, if the screen is too small it becomes a problem looking at content of any kind. Seems like an impossible thing to ask (a smaller phone with a big screen), but a folding slate phone like the Fold5 seems to fix the conundrum right up.

  2. Im going to the dealer to buy this tomorrow found it on sale for 1249 USD, i was just sold when i tried the Z Fold 5 for the first time today.

  3. I been interested in buying a Samsung Galaxy Fold phone for a while now. But there are just some minor things putting me off from buying one right now

    1. The outter display is to narrow give me a 6.8 inch outter display like the s23 ultra.

    2. Include the S Pen I find it strange how the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra have the S pen included. Why is it a problem to include the S Pen with the fold?

    3. Give me the camera setup that you have on the ultra phones

If they can get these features onto the phone I will gladly purchase it and it will even become my daily phone

  4. Im ranting, but with proof. If you don't want to read. Fold 1 problems. Fold 3 problems. Bad warranty, bad service, bad repair, and be prepared to get inconvenienced constantly. Officially done with Samsung products.

I switched from iPhone. Very first fold user. Bought fold 3 thom browne. Screen protector that is not supposed to be removed has came off and cracked in the center. Eventually screen also cracked, dead pixels, horrible customer service, denied warranty despite buying insurance on top of the factory warranty. Fold 1 screen failed but at least they replaced that. Started having problems again and I traded it in for nothing. Fold 3, 1.5 years in screen failed. Guess what? No more 2 year warranty. $600 later I got my screen replaced. 1.5 months it cracked yesterday. They hired third party or worse quality repair tech to fix these screens now. Lines, dead pixels, vertical line in the center of the screen. I'm done and I'm moving back to apple or the new Google fold. Folds are great until it isn't. Many shops will not touch your device or repair is inadequately. Just like their washer and dryers, and refrigerators. Go ask any costco returns member or any delivery guy. Most returns, and most problems. Samsung from appliances to phones are highly unreliable and service is at a all time low. I am disappointed in Samsung and all their products.
