Windows update problems are always annoying. Some times they can be the most frustrating problems you can have in Windows. So today I’m going to show you the best way to fix most windows update problems. We will be completely resetting Windows Update.

* Open CMD as Administrator

* kill services (Make sure service stops correctly)
net stop bits (Background Intelligent Transfer Service)
net stop wuauserv (Windows Update service)
net stop appidsvc (Application Identity service)
net stop cryptsvc (Cryptographic service)

* Delete files (Microsoft hidden directory)
c:ProgramDataApplication DataMicrosoftNetworkDownloader*.*

* Remove directory’s
rmdir {path} /S /Q
/S remove all sub files and folders
/Q quiet mode
rename {old name} {new name} (Use quotes if spaces in folder name)
C:WindowsSoftwareDistribution
C:WindowsSystem32catroot2

* reset security descriptor in Windows update and Bits
sc.exe sdset bits D:(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;AU)(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;PU)

* Go to system32 directory and run these commands

  7. Hey I ran through these steps exactly as you showed them, but still got error codes 0x80248007 and 0x80244018. Any suggestions?

    UPDATE: Problem fixed /somehow/ just by swapping my ethernet cable into the other jack on my motherboard. Go figure.

  10. Okay so I followed absolutely everything like double and triple checked doing each step. But for some reason I still have this update error for my windows 10. I thought maybe I needed more space on my pc so I deleted majority of my games. Should I just hard reset my pc at this point and start from complete scratch? Or will this error still be there to haunt me?

  11. After trying to do (net start wuauerv) I get these messages in command prompt

    'The wuauserv service is starting.

    The wuauserv service could not be started.

    A system error has occurred.

    System error 2 has occurred.

    The system cannot find the file specified.'

    Anyone else got this or a direction for fixing this? I think it might be a broken or corrupted registry thing but I'm very unsure

    net start appidsvc- after running this command in the last part, this happened. help

  14. I did everything exactly how you did it and restarted my computer and it still gives me an install error code when trying to install the update. I have no corrupted files I went through and scanned using your other video you suggested at the end. Thank you for your help!

  15. this didnt work for me for some reason, after i typed in “net stop wuauserv” it said windows update service could not be stopped

  17. The problem i get is that when ever i had updated before windows updade just deleted my drivers and installed me faulty ones THen i have to manually re install whole windows again. Secondly the issue is that if i try to install drivers via amd that also gives me faulty drivers for some reason so i tried to stop windows updade but windows now gives me a warning saying i need to updade and my laptop is at a risk idk what to do please someone help me if u also have the same problem
    My specs :
    Asus x550iu
    Processor is amd fx 9830 p with integrated radeon r7 gpu
    and THere is another gpu rx 460 which windows recognizes as rx 580
    and 8 gb ram
    BUT the problem is if i try to install drivers via amd it says issues n stuff and if i do updade it also gives faulty rx 460 drivers But when re installed windows it gives me rx 580 which works for me
    Please help me if u have any idea abt this situation tysm <3
