  1. The features are nice, but they worthless if they don't come with privacy and security, and both of them plus the car's data-oriented systems have been reported to have serious concerns in those areas. For example, sucking data from your phone to the car's system, storing history on the car, and transmitting the data back to Google, Apple and the car manufacturer for virtually any use, including correlating the data with all of the data they gather through your activity on all devices. Worse, a mechanic could pull your data from the car and give it to their burglar buddy who woukd be able to see your GPS history to plan a robbery when you are not around.

Such things make these systems unusable, and even desirable to know how to completely deactivate them, and how to wipe all data before taking the car in for service.

Also, these systems – just like phones – will need security updates to address vulnerabilities. In a phone it is a common practice for Google, Apple and the phone manufacturer to stop bothering with security updates after 5 years of a new model coming out. But cars you might keep for 10-20 years an in rare occasions even up to 50 years or more, even after a model is discontinued. This will eventually becomeman extremely serious concern.

SUGGESTION: Make a review from the perspective of privacy and security, covering which is better and how to protect ourselves from data leakage, breaches, hacking, etc.

  2. So if you just want to play your radio. And not Open spotify. Do you turn off your android auto or are you allowed to play your radio my hitting another button?

  3. Android users holding back tears, no one uses cables anymore and CarPlay is king wirelessly. Cars are also more optimized for IOS and that’s never changing 🍎👑

  4. Hi, thanks for the video, but there are two things that I, for me, makes AA unsafe and complicated to use. First, it doesn't allow you to write on the phone when the car is moving and the "safety pause." For me, it is a deal breaker and makes me want to go back to Apple. Is there any chance, you think that any of of those features will change any time soon?

  5. android auto wont let me type while the car is moving, but on carplay i dont have this issue, want to retire my iphone with an android but this is one of the big negatives of android that i'm facing

  6. I use to have android auto with my S22 ultra and it was a bad experience in my 2021 gmc Sierra. Android auto would lock up my phone not allowing me to interact with it even in emergency situations. I switched to an iPhone and have had a much better experience with Apple CarPlay.

  7. I use both Samsung and Apple phones but prefer android auto which Google assistant is twice as good as siri aa gives user more control over what music I can play.

  8. Did you guys connect over bluetooth? Did you find that apple is always prioiritized to connect over android, even when android was already connected? if so, how do you fix that?

  9. AA wins, it is more usefull but one thing that apple is doing better is animations which is also true for iphone vs android, I hope google will try to make smoother animations, great video!

  10. I dont know but replying on messages using my native language using android auto it replied correctly and spelled properly letter by letter. Is it just me? And wallpaper has been on AA before coolwalk. I live in PH, using it on Nissan Navara
