Undervolt your Ryzen 7 7700X for more FPS and Lower Temperature!

Those Ryzen 7000 CPUs can be quite a bit power hungry if you let them behave like they want to, which is why today we’re setting this R7 7700X to be more performing in multithread AND more power efficient, with lower temps and stopping it from overheating. I’m presenting a couple different methods, both using PBO and the Curve Optimizer, but also with a fixed core clock and a static voltage offset.

  1. I had a similar problem of heat hitting 90-95 but i had the aio bracket flipped inside out meaning not enough pressure on the cpu. Fixed that and now it sits about 80. Easy mistake to make so i wonder how many people have done the same and just think that 90+ is normal.

  3. I'm building with liquid cooling for the first time and I bought a 7700x. Do you think it would reach these temps with water cooling? Or should I just go for something like 90 lvl 2 in my case?

  4. is there any difference between a 7700x and a 7700 for this method cause it seems to me if you tweak either you get same results

  12. what is the difference between curve optimizer and gfx curve optimizer? Why use GFX instead of non-GFX? You showed the GFX modified in your video which I believe is the curve for GPU in the processor.

  14. if i just set clock ratio to 48 and vcore to 1.2v this will be really safe no matter what lottery silicon i get on the 7700x right? what's the usual ratio like if i were to set to 50 ratio what vcore would i need?

  15. In the video, he undervolted using in pbo, gfx curve optimizer.
    Shouldn't he used just the curve optimizer setting? Isn't gfx curve optimizer used for tweaking the integrated igpu?

  17. good material thanks, I also have a Gigabyte motherboard and jumped from bios ver. F3H to F8C, on F8C I can"t even post with EXPO… so I went back to F3H, what's your bios ?

  24. great video, i have one question: with clock ratio at 48 the cpu will always run at 4.8 GHz all cores. So it will not boost to like 5+ GHz. Doesn't the boost allows better performance instead of the static frequency?

  27. Have you noticed by any chance, the CPU voltage exceeding 1.3V with none of these settings applied? You know, with out of the box settings, expo disabled and stuff.
    Has turning expo on made the CPU voltage exceed 1.3V?

  30. There is a middle & better solution that mix both of method U tried.. & it's more simple..
    Leave CPU frequency at auto (default)
    Put 100MHz+ frequency in Curve optimizer, with 85c throttling limit
    Put 1.25v for CPU Core Voltage.. & done.. less temps by 10c while having better than stock high speeds (reaches 5.6GHz)
    Stock Voltage CPU is 1.3v to 1.4v, which is "Overvoltage".. at 1.25v it's like 20w more efficient still perform like high stock speeds

  31. Wait…doesn't the preset PBO just push more voltage to the cpu in order to overclock it? I don't think the default settings 1,2,3,4,5 have a negative sign, i.e. an undervolt.
    If so , won't this probably just increase consumption (and temps) and possibly fry the X3D chip?

    İ had my cpu was working on 2k-4k gaming 90+ degree tempereature, after i applied your options, now it works on 72-82 ✌️ as CPUID HWMonitor said

  34. whats the diferrence betweeen CO and GTX CO ? 😀 …. i start amd ryzen master auto ALL CORES optimizing and after 10m result was CO -50…. but i cant set TEMP LIMIT in ryzen master only PBO … still 95C

    then i set PPT from 88W to 70W ..result 14k at CINEBENCHr23 80C 4.9Ghz full 70W
    at Prime95 80C 4.5Ghz full 70W
