  1. I think the most cruel thing I have done to a laptop is installing windows 10 pro on my dell inspiron mini 10 with 2 gb of ram and a stock hdd. The poor thing started to melt when I tried playing a YouTube video. Edit: the laptop still runs but the back cover is a bit deformed.

  2. I am as old as Windows XP as in a few months older then it as in born 22nd June 2001 and Windows Xp came out on 25th October 2001 so I was 4 months and 3 days old when Windows XP came out dang I am as old as an os so when people ask me my age I just show them the Windows XP bliss wallpaper

  3. I remember as a teenager after a fresh install of Windows XP, I would have to install the updates from a burned CD before going online. Otherwise, before Windows could download and install all the updates. The computer would just slowly grind to a halt due to all the viruses, installing themselves from the vulnerabilities in Windows XP.

  4. The firefox browser is fucking slow, it like an very old man, however lot of site no longer support window xp, by the way my desktop still using this shit and my laptop using window 10, however in a saying the most dangerous place is the safest place, as written in a book of war in china dated back 3000 year ago, why? For example the terrorist will attack the most crowded place, they not going to attack in a quite place. The virus will attack window 10 more than xp. The purpose of the attack is not for fun but for money in order to steal someone credit card bank numbers.

  5. I'm watching this video on a laptop made in 2008. You can still use the old machines as long as they have a proper operating system that supports them. I'm on Linux, the problem is the small ram and the slow video card. Scrolling through the Facebook feed fills the RAM quickly. High-resolution video processing is impossible, but 720p is in most cases enough to understand what the video is about.

  6. 1:09 . Don't be, AVG and mypal can easily add security. As long as you have an update to date browser like mypal, and an anti-virus that still gets definition updates, like AVG. Then you should be good. Just be careful not to fall for fake websites, you know, basic internet security practices.

  7. So, the degradation of user experience and false marketing are becoming so apparent when you take extremely underpowered system from 15 years ago and expect it to perform like complete shit and it turns out even better in some aspects than contemporary and not so cheap systems. Right?

Turns out you can have your ports on a small device, can have upgradability, webcams didn’t improve since 2008 and mics probably even got worse.

  8. This brought so many memories back from windows 2000 to Windows xp was such a huge step up, thanks austin for the memory lane. You remember that car racing game that came with it? Was so clunky lol

  9. WiFi should be safe to use I used it no problem on Windows 7 just use AVG you should be set on a Firewall and you can still check mail. For casual computers that aren't meant for gaming you might as well take advantage and using an older Windows if you're not heavy gaming. I still don't get why people can't just game on console your games are there for life.

  10. You are not going to get a virus just by plugging into the internet. I used a computer with Windows 98 until the power supply died in 2012, I never got a virus other than some compatibility issues it worked well. I also do not use virus protection.

  11. It's so surreal to realize that XP was launched when I was 18 and a senior in high school …22 years ago. It'd be really nice if time could slow the heck down!!! 😖

  12. "Can I play Halo on this"?
Yes, yes you can. I used to play Halo on XP back in the day.
    But… I played on a AMD Phenom II X4 955 with a ATI 4870. Good times. 🙂

  13. I experienced the same thing with my current desktop running win7 no service pack on a vm… bout to try xp and then vista on my grampa dell inspiron 1545 from 2009 just for fun lol
