Today we’ll take you behind the scenes at Tesla’s Cybertruck delivery event. By now you’ve seen the specs, you’ve made an opinion, but I want to show you what it felt like to be in the middle as it all unraveled. I’ve owned 4 teslas, but the Cybertruck has me confused. Will it be mainstream, or niche? Let’s find out.

  1. I am truly impressed how you have found the perfect balance between fan of the brand and objective content. That is so much harder to pull off than most folks realize. Thank you for the video- I have watched a lot of the CT videos including Hagerty and Top Gear and this is easily the best journalism oriented take

  2. I'll convert to a sale. I was never planning on the 40000 truck. And I'll get the range extender. I need that. I also expected reality to be different than what was hyped.

  3. I totally Agree with Jerry Rig!!! its too much of a down grade of what we saw and was promised. Examples : No built in ramp, No Stainless Steel Bed with lock down tracks and no 500 mile range

  4. The prices are definitely disappointing, and I think a lot of the pre-orders was because of that. Listening to the few videos that got to actually drive it and live with for a bit, are extremely satisfied with the vehicle. I think that matters more than anything, if the vehicle exceeds the expectations.

  5. why are people saying the ford lighting is same spec wise but cheaper when a ford lariat is $78,000 out the door 320 miles. yes 340 miles of range is very disappointing, but it stacks up with the competition. and I'm pretty sure once production ramps up price will lower as all ways.

  6. I felt similar to Kyle Conner on the prices. The prices don't surprise me. I was hoping for better. I felt the Cyberbeast could easily be well over a hundred. Just like the Model S Plaid. The real disappointment was the range of the Cyberbeast. I was expecting close to 500 miles. The 320 mile range is a real disappointment, that is maybe why it is not over $100,000. I ordered the tri-motor 4 years ago for the range, not the three motors. I see myself switching to the dual-motor.

  7. I still want my 2 motor version but unless the price comes closer to the original price I may not be able to afford it. Am looking at a 50-55k price, not an 80k price.

  8. More than 1/2 the orders will drop out. People were expecting a truck for $39,999 and more range. Now its $40k more! and range is not what was being talked about, no thanks. Bidenomics coming to a neighborhood near you.

  9. The Cybertruck event was one of the worst ones Tesla has done to date, especially with the lighting. Did they have a brownout going on while filming? Why is it so dark? Didn't they do a practice run before rolling cameras? It will be interesting to see how many of those nearly 2 million reservation holders actually hold the line and make the final purchase. One thing is for sure though: Rivian was happy with what they heard and saw….

  10. Order canceled. I was on the fence as the truck design is not really for me. I don’t think you get a great value in return. While I do not care to buy and sell cars, the fact that Tesla put you in a place that you cannot resell an item you purchased. It is silly.

  11. More Musk PR BS. Truck has DOUBLED IN PRICE, no excuses. Bulletproof my a@@. Drive one production line model to my back yard and let real people try it out and I bet it fails. Just more Musk fanboys putting out more BS and no one is calling them out on it.

  12. Remember.. Rivian already has a couple years of testing under its belt…as a truck. Seeing how the panels of every Cybertruck tested thus far I've seen has waviness in the panels…..this isn't nothing.

  13. 20% real inflation every year now since the plandemic the truck cost exactly what was promised. Thank your bullshit government for it. Stay home isn't for free after all dummies

  14. What do people want. Inflation is out of control. Like the one guy said he hasn’t solidified all his thoughts yet. Fine get a Rivian. Like Kyle said, i ignored what was said and simply accept where they netted out. Which is still great. Some of the haters are having seizures. Simply just dont buy it if its not for you. Many people will be buying and it will be a strong niche.

  15. R1T is a mid size truck, CT is full size. The fact that they have comparable specs otherwise and are the same price I think would favor the CT as the better value. What am I missing?

  16. Oh, get real! The lowest cost model a l w a y s follows the highest cost model by a considerable time lag while they lower the cost by scale. A n d it is multiple years later now, so all the dollars have shrunk in value a n d those old guestimates were preproduction targets – n o t detailed designs.

  17. I saw it yesterday for first time in person at a showroom. Pictures/video do it no justice, everyone has to see it in person before they can truly form an opinion. I absolutely love it, it looks incredible.

  18. They were obviously waiting for solid state batteries so they can hit the 500 mile range that’s y the cyber truck was delay this long. This truck as constituted could have came out two yrs ago

  19. 6:06 I wouldn't be too worried about the posted prices just yet. As with their other models, Tesla is basing their prices on supply versus demand … and right now, there's a lot of demand for Cypertrucks from a lot of customers with a lot of cash waiting for these. So, Tesla can't resist harvesting all that high gross margins so that they can at least start reversing the cash outflow they've had to endure during the past four years of Cypbertruck development. As production ramps up to meet that demand and economies of scale start kicking in as a result, we'll start seeing lower prices, again, just as with their other models.
