17. I really want an SUV, but most SUVs are unnecessarily large for me. Smaller SUVs would definitely be for me.

18. Good to hear they are paring down the features. A lot of the features on the R1T are neat, but not reasons I would buy it. Lots of these EV startups did this to differentiate themselves from Tesla, which made them too expensive.

19. Why hire designers when you can feed a covered silhouette to the internet and let them speculate with renders. Its like having their own DALL-E for vehicle design

20. Tesla's only competition is BYD in China. Rivian has like 2 vehicles… probably needs another 20 years to be in the same ball park. That's if Tesla stays the same and Rivian explodes.

21. I bought an Audi Q4 etron about a year ago. The real-world range is rubbish. Glad I live in a city, then. Anything more than a 2-hour drive is a nightmare. I’ll take anything reasonably priced that will do 500. I barely get 180 out of this thing…lose 80 just turning the heater on.

22. I'm not excited about a smaller SUV. I feel like the EV mid-size SUV market is already saturated. The R1S is interesting because it's big enough for a family. Just make it at a price a family can afford and you'll have a hit.

23. If they’re projecting 40k, it’ll likely cost 60 after destination fees and stuff. I want to see rivian succeed, but I’m still not buying an EV for 5 years when the infrastructure is a LOT better. Until charging stations are as prevalent as gas stations, and apartment complexes add charging stations, I’ll pass.

24. It's said they won't be in production until 2026. Wonder if these changes to reduce the price could be applied to the R1S and R1T

25. All very interesting but the FACT is that this company loses money on every vehicle, does not produce enough vehicles to ever make a profit and is way too expensive for the average consumer. Rivian is just NOT a sustainable business model. When the IPO cash starts to run out and the “dirt” cheap Chinese electrics start to flood the US market this company will fade away. I hate to say this because they really do make a very nice product.

27. I need a EV that can go 550 miles on a charge the same as my x5 gas

28. The range is what kills me with EVs . We need to have at least 500 miles of range, so there is less range anxiety. They need to boset charging speeds and have a bigger charger network.
