iPhone 14 Review: Good Upgrade for Most

Apple’s iPhone 14 is quite lovely and a good upgrade for most people.

For five days we tested a review sample of the iPhone 14 on loan from Apple. On the outside the 14 inherits the tried and true flat-aluminum sided design from the iPhone 12 and 13. On the inside, Apple essentially repackaged the iPhone 13 Pro sans the telephoto camera and the high refresh-rate screen. The result is quite lovely and makes the iPhone 14 a good upgrade for most people.

  1. biggest compaint (I have a 14plus)
why does Apple keep putting the power button on the side?
not a huge deal usually but considering the POWER BUTTON is on the exact opposite side, I often take screenshots when I'm simply trying to adjust volume up or down.
seems like a real easy fix

  2. Superb and entertaining analysis. AAAAA+ ✔ … on my 2nd day with a new 14. Your video is truly marvelous. Thank you. …now wondering if I should have gotten the 14 Plus. — After enjoying 3 (all-new) iPhone 6S Plus phones over a span of 12 years… (loved that Model.) — this new phone is certainly a true upgrade — for me. — I realize the new screen goes to the edge, but the 14 — in the hand — feels a tad smaller. — I did hold up the 6.7" Plus… and, it felt large. — The iPhone 14 is absolutely a fine phone/computer/camera/device. — The image is excellent. The audio is, now — finally — L o u d. — And… truly a great price at $799, for a phone of this caliber. —– Thank you. Great review!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I upgraded to an iPhone 14 from a 13 pro and I gotta be honest, the 14 is better. Doesn’t feel so heavy and bulky and battery lasts much longer. The only thing I miss is 120 refresh rate

  4. Excellent review! The photos were amazing and I am glad that you took photos of dogs, cats and motorcycles and food items. I would like to know your thoughts on the I Phone Plus and your thoughts on the Samsung 23 Ultra as well. I have a 9 Plus and I am thinking about getting one of those phones so any videos you have would be great. Thanks

  5. The average consumer can’t tell the difference between a lot of things on the phones. It’s similar to the MacBook lineup. Pro is for power users. The air is for people that just want a MacBook. Apple should take the same approach for iPhones going forward. Stop naming them.

iPhone Pro and iPhone Air. The older I get the less I care about having a pro model iPhone.

  6. I switch between Apple and iPhones every few years. Coming off the Galaxy Note 20 – miss the stylus, my live wallpapers and customization.

However, I have to say this phone feels very well built. Super fluid .

Androids consistent let down for me has been the dramatic battery life change after certain updates, alot of times the effect is irreversible. Always happens around the 18 month to 2 year mark…hoping Apple holds it down with this battery. I only use the brand chargers with the the correct chip too –_

  7. I went from an 11 to a 14 a few days ago and so far it’s been amazing can really tell the difference , that being said my 11 was awesome and If I hadn’t wrecked the screen I feel like I would of used it for another few years with no problems , everyone complains about little things with iPhones but honestly Apple is killing it

  8. I’m thinking about upgrading to an iPhone 14 from my iPhone SE 2nd Gen (2020) ASAP 🤔 battery life is my main concern because the battery on my SE is JUST AWFUL 🪫 The iPhone 13 is probably a better value…but I do really like the new safety features (satellite and crash detection) on the 14

  9. Thanks for this balanced review! Many of the other Youtubers got distracted by the lack of dynamic island and 120hz. I don't need that and most people neither. I will get my iPhone 14 tomorrow.

  10. c net Patrick, do you think that on the new Apple Watch Ultra they will add the SOS satellite emergency thing on it or keep it only on the on the iPhone 14 would you do a review on it and let us know thank you Clarke Moore

  11. Hello, me, and acouple people I know, have a base s21, and are looking at upgrading to the 14 pro. We're not sure if we should. Keep in mind we mainly use snapchat and snapchats android optimization is very bad. What are your thoughts?

  12. They keep saying that they repackaged the iPhone 13 Pro into the 14 & they got that from Apple. Every review has said this & they didn’t cause the iphone 14 is the iPhone 13 & not the pro version. Same everything as the iPhone 13 even down to its processor. just because they made the cameras a little better doesn’t make a pro not even last years version. To anyone on planing to getting an iphone 14 cause maybe that’s the one you can afford pass on it & pick up the 13 pro versions cause they’re not the same they’re actually better.

  13. I moved from Samsung to Apple a year ago and bought the iphone 13 pro max. Extremely happy about my decision. Everything about my phone is fine, the battery is still rated at 100%. I did not get the pro max to upgrade every year…. in 2024 I may think about it.
