  1. This is so fucking stupid, I'm new at iphones, and this is the 5th simple topic that I had to research how to use, and it is so fucking stupid. On android I would turn on the option and it just works. I know I said it twice already, but this is SO FUCKING STUPID. Thanks man.

  2. What a waste of time. It would be so much easier to have a setting to stop charging at a level input by the user. No need for location or the days required so the algorithm can ‘learn’.

  3. This feature is neat for people who charge their phones overnight. But nowdays iPhones support 27W charging which helps them reach 0-100% in about less than 2 hours which is more than enough if you’re coming home from work and you need to have dinner, take a shower, spend time with family, etc etc. you can leave your phone plugged in and it will be at 100% when you finally get hold of it. So… all in all, neat feature but useless nowdays in my opinion.

  4. I’m sorry the Optimizated feature on iPhone is not practical for people who are on the go and travel like who wants to wait hours for their phone to charge up to 100% like I don’t like the feature because I was wondering why the heck my iPhone wasn’t charging up to full 100% & I’m like is it my damn battery no it’s because it’s been on the Optimizated Battery Charging all this time and I never realized that was the reason why my phone was charging only to 80% or sometimes 90% and then completely slow down.

  5. Thank god i found this video so i can turn system customization OFF
I hate the fact my battery stop charging after 80% like idc if it is healthy for the battery or not if im in a hurry and want to charge my phone before i leave i want it to be at 100 or else im fked

  6. You won’t find this on google at least I can’t find it whenever you replace an iPhone battery at least for my iPhone 8 and 7 plus that I replaced the batteries in from IFIX IT but even though optimized battery charging is enabled and all the settings where they should be and when you first set up the phone it says optimized battery charging is enabled but it will never activate it will always charge to 100% no matter what after battery replacement

  7. it will still charge to 100%. the only difference is itll learn your charging routine so it can charge to 100% only when you are about to use your phone instead of just going to 100 and staying there for hours if you went to sleep for example

  8. I have had this problem on and off, but I have found that if I have my screen brightness at 0 percent it does the job. I also turn on Dark Mode because as I am blind, I don't need to see what is on the screen anyway and I know what I am doing, thanks to VoiceOver.

As for it being bad for the battery to charge past 80 percent, I believe that it is probably true for most people, but not everyone. I baby my battery as much as I can, by using wired EarPods, a dongle in a power bank while charging. I also know that not everyone does this and this video speaks to them, more than me, when it comes to that piece of detail.

I avoid using MagSafe as much as I can, when I am home and sometimes, I have had optimize battery charging work with MagSafe, which is rather rare for me and I don't understand why, but when I am out it doesn't feel as warm, as it does while at home.

Great video and I generally have everything turned on, which had been mentioned along with auto brightness turned off and my screen brightness at 0%. In case anyone asks, I do listen to music and talk on the phone while charging while having the buds in my ears and as long as the battery isn't getting overheated, I don't see a problem with it being charged past 80%, as long as it is at a normal temperature while either holding, or continuing to charge. Sometimes one may be a heavy user and clearly, the "80% is bad" mantra doesn't speak to everyone who uses an iPhone. I consider that an opinion and because it is from Apple, I believe that to be suspect. After all, this comes from them and the fact that not everyone charges their iPhone battery using either MagSafe or the wall charger (every time they charge) has been seemingly overlooked. Otherwise, great video.
