In recent years, the performance gap between Android and iPhone has rapidly narrowed! According to the latest leaked benchmark results of Qualcomm and MediaTek’s next-generation flagship chips, it has surpassed the Apple A17 Pro in multi-core scores and is even comparable to Mac laptops.
X account @negativeonehero leaked two latest screenshots from the benchmark platform. It is suspected that Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip has achieved excellent performance of 2845 single-core and 10628 multi-core on the GeekBench 6 platform. Another picture also shows that MediaTek Dimensity 9400 will not show any weakness, and it also has a single-core 2776 and a multi-core 11739 levels.
Compared with Samsung’s new flagship phone Galaxy S24 Ultra, which uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm expects the multi-core growth rate of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to be launched at the end of this year to reach as much as 46%. At the same time, MediaTek’s next-generation chips are significantly ahead of the iPhone 15 Pro equipped with A17 Pro in multi-core, and the single-core score, which was originally lagging behind, has almost tied. Even compared to the M3 version of MacBook Pro, its single-core score is about 3,000 and multi-core score is about 11,000, which is already a similar score.
Taking into account the different heat dissipation and operating systems of each device, running scores can only be used as a reference. However, in recent years, Android flagship chips have benefited from TSMC’s latest process technology and have also used more large cores to replace efficiency cores to improve performance. Qualcomm is also expected to use its own Oryon CPU to replace the Arm public architecture, which is a key factor in driving performance growth.
