I'm debating returning my 5800X3D to get my $263 back and selling off a X570 board for $100 and 64gb of RAM for $80. About $100 I could move to AM5 but on 7600. I'm back n forth on staying on my trusty X570S/64gb/6900XT system but getting onto AM5 does have it's benefits. Just waiting to see if any crazy good prices roll around, I think i missed my shot though as I cancelled my 7800X3D $348 X670E Tomahawk $192 order.
Take a shot everytime he says x3d
No one is ever making it to the end without significant alcohol poisoning xD
would be nice if you tested more games people actually play. take a look at the steam charts its not that hard to see what people consistently play on a a daily basis
Plz add an additional benchmark of the lowest presets , for those competitive gamers looking to see the Difference between the CPU only as i usually always play lowest settings with lower stretched resolutions.
I dare anyone to tighten their memory and run these tests again. You would be surprised.
Still can't find any reason to upgrade my 5800X3D & 4090 at 120Hz 4k gaming and 115 FPS limit! I'll wait until AM6 and DDR6👍🏻
I've still got the 5800x3d with the 6800xt and it's still awesome. I won't do another build until AM6 or AM7.
3d v-cache is good new architecture is better 3d v-cahe on new architecture is the best.
In my country 7700 is 260$
And 5800x3D is 400$
i just upgraded my sons 3700x to a 5800x3d. he still has a 2070 super, so until we upgrade that it won't show too much of a performance uplift.
What about power consumption and temps?
The only problem with this CPU is that the used market is non existent because 5800X3D owners are so happy with their purchase 😂
Wow, I know this is an old video. But I'm amazed a hardware reviewer is doing CPU test with the graphics settings on ultra 😂
i just bought Ryzen 7 7700 , ty for the info.
5800X3D is the real GOAT and mine was almost free, so will keep it for years to come.
The most extra costs that go with the 5800x3d is a few dollars for thermal paste. With the 7700 you have to buy a new mobo and new RAM. So it's actually $600 vs $320
I got a 5800X3D to replace my 3700X, i think I'll be keeping this AM4 computer for a few more years after this,
I didn't have ReBar enabled prior to this, updated bios, changed chips, enabled Rebar and I swear Ive seen 20, 30, 40% FPS gain in some games.
Fucking cyberpunk was running at 80 frames on high settings (no raytrace), Swap the chip, and it is holding 144 steady now. ridiculous.
Long live AM4
I can't wait to see what the 8800 X3D or 9800 X3D will offer 🤔
Exact reason I chose to not upgrade my 5800x3d this year. It's a great processor.
5800X3D if like me last generaton mother board it taken crown keep you eye out I pick one up in uk in flash sale by other amazon sell for only £220 pounds
Would love to have seen the thermal and power consumption differences between the 5800X3D and the 7700 (non-X).
Why were all the cpu tests done with ultra quality where they’re more likely to be gpu bound??
Which one will age well any thoughts?
So the Ryzen 7700 is a valid upgrade from my old 10700k?
dumb question the correct answer is 7800X3D
I just bought a r7 58003dx as im on am4 already and have a x570 tuf gaming plus only 16gb of ram but thinking about blowing out another $50 for 32gb of ram
If you already have an X570S MB, 32GB of B-Die and play Sim Racing titles and VRChat (the X3D kicks serious butt in VR titles too), the answer is easy.
Good review. It would have been nice to include power consumption numbers. One advantage that the 7700 has over the others is the lower TDP, which could be an important consideration for small forma factor builds with limited power supplies. Just a thought.
nice breakdown and recommendation.. Considering upgrading to Ryzen 7-5800x3D but for $50 more at Micro Center I can get new Motherboard, Ryzen 7700X, and 32 Gigs of Memory so may go that route for future CPU Support.
5800x3d is only 225 used here
The key word is paying a premium price for AM5.
What about temps?
why using max quality preset ?
If I will be into gaming next year, Im planning to go with AM5 new build to replace my current Skylake badboy thats already serving well for some 5 years or more and videos like this a great help to choose exact CPU. Good job!
5800x3d and i7 2600k : the best cpu in history.
Microcenter bundle has Ryzen 5 7700X, B650M AM5 mobo and 32gb ram bundle for $399 + tax
Should I stick to my AM4 Platform and buy the 5800x3D for $330 or choose the bundle and upgrade?
I currently own the ryzen 5 3600
5500
Is it more worth it to get a 7700x for a 6800xt?
I m thinking about upgrading my 2700X to the 5800X3D should I go for it, or wait for Zen5 ?
Is the 5800X3D the best gaming CPU available for the AM4 socket motherboards?
Looks like 7700 is the go.
What about the 7700x vs 7700?
Going to upgrade from 3900x to 5800x3D since I don’t Wanna create more etrash😂
Soon to reach a Million Subs
I‘m currently thinking about building a new PC and I’m thinking im gonna go with AM4 just because the AM5 Motherboards are so expensive I just can’t justify paying 300€ for a „budget“ mainboard.
Appreciate inclusion of 1440p/4k resolutions even though they're more GPU limited resolutions
