You're going to want to subscribe because the faucet on Fold 2 leaks has just opened up. More big news coming real soon..
All Folds should launch before non-folding phones. Folds are the premium devices, and should lead, not follow, non-folding phones.
They better the Fold was such a joke in the tech world, it BETTER come with the g4…if not the g5, knowing how late the fold came out.
This is interesting news. I am a Pixel 8 Pro owner but would like to get a foldable device sometime in the future.
Bigger screen would be nice. will October release go up against Samsung zfold 6?? 😊
This is going to be a hard choice for me because if they have the google pixel 2 coming out And the fold 6 about the same time it's going to be hard to choose
I like the form factor as well, but I hope the software is on point this time around, too. Let it really compete with these other markets.
I think that’s this would make sense because the pixel 9 non pro is rumored to have 3 cameras. This leads me to believe that we will get pixel 9, pixel 9xl and pixel fold becoming the pixel pro.
I agree 100%! That they need to wait and to get the tensor g for the 16 grams. Also hopefully make it lighter and thinner. I'm okay with the aspect ratio, maybe just a little taller
Man Google hurt my feelings. As a Google fan I'm disappointed they did the pixel fold like that. I took my talents back to Samsung
There's no need for Google to use the TG3…no Need. Make the JUMP, Google!! Sheesh 😵💫
Needs dust resistance
imo the fold doesn’t really compete against the traditional phones. it’s a different market for both now.
I would be happy with slightly smaller bezels on the inner screen but keep the apect ratio. perhaps work on the inner component layout to prevent over heating. lastly, if the fold is the flagship, it needs the best or equal cameras as the pro models.
I am curious if it'll be available to more markets this time around.
If you remember, this is what I said they should have done last year.
The G series of chips are mediocre compared to the competition. I'm order for Google to be competitive they have to significantly drop the price of the the Fold 2
Absolutely on board with this, if true. I'm sure the new Fold will take on the new rounded visor or the 9 series then. They can introduce this with 9 and 9 Pro as a cohesively styled family.
I think Pixel Fold 2 will come with Tensor G3 although one was being tested with G4. That might come out next year. First one came out last year with G2 to either undercut or match Galaxy Z Fold 5 which the latter happened. Z Fold 5 and Pixel ended up the same price. Pixel Fold 2 will come in early summer as it did last year with Pixel 8a. Aspect ratio may be still the same as the first Fold but I won't be suprised if they increase it slightly. Camera system and design might be the same as on the Pixel 8 Pro.
It would be interesting if Google moved to an 18-month release cycle; realistically, a lot of people upgrade after 2 or 3 years, so this could either push people to skip 1 generation less or keep their phones a year longer.
Tbh, it's getting hard to be excited with how fragmented Google's devices have gotten. I'm really hoping they do something soon to gain some goodwill back.
I'm definitely on board with this schedule alignment, especially if it means the Pixel Fold 2 is a true flagship device. This means the Pixel Fold 2 would get all of the software enhancements and AI tricks as soon as Google releases them. Depending on the hardware/features, I'll most likely replace my Z Fold 5 with the Pixel Fold 2 when the time comes!
I'd be totally fine with getting the Exynos 2400 with googles love. The Tensor 3 on that expensive of a device would be unfortunate
THANK GOD!!!!!!!
I just don't want to lose the aspect ratio
Don't care much for the CPU and RAM as much as I do for the next Gen to have a similar DEX mode and a smart stylus like Samsung does.
That might make sense where there might be a pixel pro and pixel pro max and now a pixel fold. Is there any news on the aspect ratio / size?
I was hoping they would do this; release Fold 2 in Fall. I think it sets up a better timing for keeping updates inline with the main Pixels. One drawback of the a-series phones is the offset update schedule. Plus gives them more time to really make the Pixel Fold 2 stellar and a better competitor with OnePlus Open 2 and Z Fold 6 (which will likely have a wider cover screen.) Consumers could even be pushed more towards the Fold 2 if it is alongside the Pixel 9s.
I Love your channel. May i give you a tip. Some Tech youtubers review certain phones. When they are done with the review they sell the phone. The phone is usually in very good state so you'll get a great price for it. Then with wome extra money you can buy the next version of that phone for the next reviews, if you don't get any review phones send your way.
I just hope this time Google gives us a good trade in for the original fold when we purchase the 2.
Now they just need to toss in the same cameras or better than the PRO and they may finally be able to compete with Samsung and maybe even hold their own against Oppo/Oneplus. Thanks for finally taking the foldable seriously, Google
