  1. I have both a Pixel 4a 5g, and a Pixel 5, and IMO, those are better overall Pixel devices than the 4a, cost notwithstanding. 5.8" is just a tad too small for media consumption, or even for the on-screen keyboard if you have bigger fingers. The Pixel 5 is almost the perfect size and weight, especially for travelling, but the 6.2" screen on the 4a 5g is nice for watching videos and movies too. I'm only comparing up to the Pixel 5, because unlimited photo storage stopped after the 5.

  2. I got my pixel 4a when it launched in 2020 and I still love it! While I wish it had more customization (themes, fonts, more phone cases!) like Samsung, as a phone it's a massive upgrade from my previous (Nexus 5, funny enough also a "google" phone) and it is still extremely fast, faster than my laptop haha ! The pixel android is streamlined and very smooth to use compared to some other companies' androids imo. My old phone also crashed all the time and this one barely ever does

  3. Iv had a pixel 4a for a year plus. I formally had a low/mid price Samsung. The Samsung was good and had a lot of life left, but i really wanted a pixel.
Its a good phone and i'm going to try to keep it as long as i can and not discard it for a flight of fantacy.
My only gripe with this phone is making a text. Scrolling to be precise.
To scroll up or down to check what iv written before i send is a nightmare. The text box flies up rapidly or down rapidly and i cant seem to sort it.
    Thankyou for the vid.

  4. "Upgraded" to a 6a and regretted it, despite the $300 trade-in for my 4a, which made the price only $150. The touted "huge improvements" turned out to be almost unnoticeable. The only noticeable improvement is the camera, but there's not really a big difference in good light. However, the abyssmal fingerprint sensor, loss of the mini headphone jack, and clumsy increase in size are big downgrades in the everyday user experience. Miss my 4a!

  5. I have had my 4a since early 21 and I bought it as an experiment. I wanted to buy a "budget" phone to see how long I could use it for before having to upgrade. I use the 4a primarily as my personal phone/media device as I'm pretty much invested in the Apple eco system from a work and productivity point of view. So I also run a iPhone 13 mini as my business driver. Long story short, the 4a has not slowed down at all and it is by far my favourite piece of tech. Android 12 certainly has something to do with that too. I have bought 4a's for my entire family and everyone is as happy as can be. My conclusion is that we spend too much on tech that we never use the full potential of. The only thing I would like is an IP rating for piece of mind.

  6. Bought it last year. Best phone I've owned. I got fed up of using my iPhone 6s plus found it way too large and was a pain to pull out my pocket.

I don't use phones as a daily driver, that's what my desktop and iPad is for. For phones I need something small and fast. Pixel 4a delivers on both.

  7. been having the 4a for some time now, and i love its size&performance. It fits to your pocket, which most of new models don't… it's well built (till today it has survived quite some drops), a textile-covered bumper makes it look nice – don't mind the plastic housing,… and missing out the extra software features – the higher models have – is no big deal for me either,…
i think, we sure can enjoy at least one year of free upgrades, … but i suspect&expect, that with the upgrade to A13, the performance will start to degrade/decrease.

  8. I traded in my Moto G for the Pixel 4A in 2020. Two main reasons: 1) a sensible size – I want a phone in my back pocket, not a small TV, 2) 128 GB storage, sufficient to store Ordnance Survey Maps for the whole UK and as many photos and video clips as I can imagine taking.

  9. i lost mine (barely blue 4a) and now the only available pixel 4a costs 470 euros. Whould you pay 100+ or just go for pixel 6 an other pixel?
    pixel 5a 560 euros
    pixel 4a 5g 540
    Pixel 6 560

  10. most pixel 4 a i find to buy are "new" costs around $300 and come from
china, are they all fake or is it a genuine model that price dropped
because it is discontinued ? thanks

  11. Pixel 4a is one of the lightest and smallest phones under 6" with android 12. It's an amazing phone that can do anything. Bigger doesn't always mean better especially if you're like me that's active and don't want a huge phone in the pocket.

  12. I love this phone so much but I had massive problems with it just randomly never turning back on , I got in contact with Google and they sent me a new one immediately no questions asked said it was their fault (this was a year ago) then this happened again around a month ago – makes me nervous to buy another enough though I love them

  13. A pixel 4a user since 2020
    My first pixel device
It is a great compact phone
I can hold it phone just using one hand and it feel great
My whole family love the quality of the photos it shot
The price is great and it suit most of my requirement of what it take to be my phone
I don't play game usually and I don't need too fast network speed so i don't need too fast cpu and gpu and 5G not even useful for me
I usually stay at home using wifi so the battery really doesn't matter to me
I compare it with samsung galaxy S10E and Iphone SE (both of them are compact phones with mid-range to flagship performance)
I don't want to use an Iphone because it would be a nightmare to follow apple stupid UI
Samsung one UI is not my taste either

    BTW
Now, my pixel 4a is running Pixel Experience 12.1(custom rom)
It is a great device for custom rom and root players 😉

  14. So I have the opportunity to buy a Pixel 4 or 4A for about the same price, $200'ish. Since you have had both phones, what would you recommend? Pixel 4 with better build quality, higher refresh rate, IP68, faster processor, 2nd camera lense but that sucky battery and software support ending this year; or the Pixel 4A with the headphone jack, better battery life and software support to the end of next year?

  15. Sad that small phones aren't the trend anymore. Getting tired of expensive huge phones that are the prices of gaming laptops these days. Wish more manufacturers made small android phones.
