7 Mind-Blowing Ways To Use The Vision Pro

I continue to be amazed at what the Vision pro can do but for the most part it is still relatively limited for a $3500 computer. Here are the 7 use cases that I use most often

  1. My biggest con is the significant reflection/glare that I see when watching media in cinema / dark immersive environments. I don’t see any creators mentioning it but I’ve switched light seals and tried another demo unit at an Apple Store and I still see it. I wish someone had some feedback / tips for this. The workaround for me has been using lighter immersive environments but I want to use cinema and the theatre Disney plus environments.

  2. There’s no logical or technical reason why it can’t work with Intel Macs. Apple is just greedy, wanting users to buy more M chip Macs.

  3. 🐬 I picked up my Vision and am loving it! It’s got 1st gen limitations but it’s also delivering new, mind-blowing experiences.

I set up my futuristic morning routine from the sci-fi movies. In the Shared Space I have giant floating windows for spatial music, Mail, Messages, YouTube news playing, etc. It’s great for multitasking and running multiple “full screen” apps simultaneously. I just have a monthly calendar “over there” all day. Oddly it’s a throwback to the old days when your calendar was over there, the record player over there, typewriter in front, etc. I even pinned up several family photos and they stayed anchor there.

It helped do some mundane household scheduling. I dialed in an Environment, and was able to cross reference full-sized windows of Calendar, Messages, a PDF of my kid’s academic calendar 4-ft wide, a Safari window, Kaiser Permanente. My air filter’s app, car app, and Music library were all full-sized behind my back. It wasn’t overstimulation or distracting, it was convenient.

I re-watched many favorite movies and it feels like I have my own drive through theater. It’s literally amongst the best movie watching options ever, home or theater.

I had several lengthy conversations with ChatGPT by Mt Hood the other day. It felt like being on the Holodeck and learning from Computer.

I expanded my Photos window to the max, zoomed all the way out, and viewed 8,000 of my photos at once. It was the size of my living room wall and each photo was the size of a coin. I walked before it like a mural and was able to touch or pinch apart with my two hands to zoom in and out. And when I select one, it’s the size of an art gallery exhibit, its glass window casting shadow on the floor.

I also put my spatial videos in the clouds above Haleakala similar to the gentleman in the video. I literally had the thought, “this feels like I’ve gone to heaven and am watching my life flash before my eyes.”

If you have an open mind and understand it’s 1st gen limitations, I think there is plenty to enjoy here. It’s not a gimmick, it’s not a beta product, it’s a 1st gen product with enormous potential.

  4. I have an appointment at my nearest  store to try just the demo. From the various reviews I’ve seen about AVP, I am very intrigued. I think this VR cool introduction from Apple into such a niche market! Very exciting!

  5. I’ve gotten to the point where with the dual loop strap I can use this for 8 hours straight and literally completely forget it’s on my head. It’s absolutely amazing.

  6. for a first gen apple product its pretty impressive. I personally dont find the use for it to justify the price. I'd rather own a high end 16 inch MacBook Pro or something like that

  7. For the desk set up, I use a mouse and keyboard stand built for Ing gaming rig set ups, so I don’t have a desk at all, and it works perfectly, and I can actually face into the room with all my pictures and wall hangings instead of facing into a wall or a corner, which is what a desk does

  8. With humility, don’t each of these use cases have a lower barrier to entry solution/tool?

Example: FaceTime can actually record a video of me now w a device I don’t wear. Vs a MiiMoji plus Headset.

Yes, the VPro experience is one of a kind and mesmerizing. I am excited for this space.

But is the justification for the VP for these use cases are “interesting” vs. “useful/value” balance?

Yes, the Sports is unique but has the cost of one way isolation. Most people go to sports games and buy 2x tickets not one.

Great vid; makes sense. Just a very thought provoking product.

    ❤️ 🤝

  9. It is well worth the purchase to photograph daughter! I'm glad I bought it now! Otherwise, when she grows up, You will never be able to take another picture of her!

  10. I have been using mine for almost a week now. It’s weird that when I take it off, I sometimes look at items in real life and automatically pinch my finger expecting it to do something. Do you get that?

  11. It’s such a missed opportunity for such a powerful, ground breaking computing device to lack data ports. At the very least I’d love to use an audio interface with one for production work w/ wired headphones, external hard drives, or even inputing external HDMI signals (PCVR, etc) .. They should make the external battery pack a usb/TB data hub in future versions.

I’m sure you could probably use a bluetooth adapter for wired headphones but then there’s latency to deal with.

  12. Apple needs to add a feature to the Harry Potter movies on the Apple TV store where you can walk around dumbleore’s office, pick up each movie represented as a memory in a vile, and then dive into the pensive and watch the movies. This would be awesome!

  13. Great video. Use case 1, productivity is Apple’s most advertised use case. Immersive video is good with iPhone footage but video filmed with the actual cameras on the Vision Pro reviewers have said is next level. How are some people able to demonstrate pulling the screen close and then it becomes a touchscreen? You were right to be excited about the Vision Pro, the clarity, the low latency and the UI are all groundbreaking and the biggest hurdles to mass adoption for regular people. You know how much better it is than the Quest, ignore the noise.

  14. Yes, I own a Vision Pro (512GB). During the last four day, I have been learning to navigate and explore the many functions. I had forgotten how to expand and contract the environments by rotating the Digital Crown. This video pointed out that function. Thank you! Today, I was viewing YouTube via my MacBook Pro as well as YouTube via the Juno app. The controls are different and "exciting". Ha! Over time it will feel very natural. Ha!

  15. Remember folks do not let these reviewers dissuade you from using the dual loop strap as most of them are more concerned with image than practicality. Try both and see which is more comfortable for you.

  16. Got a question for you on device sharing. If I have an awesome spatial video that I took that I want my wife to see, is that possible? My guess would be that, if she puts on my AVP, the device will know it’s not me via Optic ID. I understand there is guest mode but I assume (and kind of hope) that, in guest mode, a guest couldn’t go through my (the primary user’s) photo library. So would it just not be possible to do?
