AMD’s Ryzen 8000 series CPUs are here! Well, sort of. As of today, AMD is announcing four Ryzen 8000 series CPUs, although they aren’t really 8000 series chips. These are still Zen4 based, the same as the current 7000 series, but these are the APUs. Technically, all Ryzen 7000 series chips are APUs, as they all contain an integrated GPU, making AMD’s “G” line somewhat irrelevant – that is, until now. AMD is launching the 8700G, 8600G, 8500G, and 8300G. The big deal here is that the integrated GPU is a significant step up from what we’ve had before. The top end 8700G now gets AMD Radeon 780M Graphics, which – at least according to AMD’s own benchmark results – should offer over 60FPS in Cyberpunk on low at 1080p, 89 FPS in Hitman 3, 109 FPS in GTA V, 120 FPS in F1 2022, and 236 FPS in League of Legends on default settings. That’s pretty impressive!

If they could find a way to let amd gpus access the APU graphics and gain a benefit like smart access memory, that would be a nice. Guess it would be too laggy and not worth it.
Not everyone can afford bleeding edge. Releasing cheap CPUs for the segment that normally gets left behind makes sense. Especially if the silicone in question cannot reach the performance targets of the next highest tier, but at the same time performs decently enough to be above the earlier tier. Also since the release isn't limited, they will sell well in smaller markets outside of the G8 countries. Central and South America, Africa, Middle East etc.
The 5000-series CPUs are the most interesting, but it's interesting since there's still plenty of B450/550 Boards in the market here
ASRock also announced their X600 5"x5" motherboard, which means my 3400G-powered ultra-SFF PC is getting an upgrade this year!
I just wish I had the X300 and not the A300 right now, because there's a good chance I wouldn't have to upgrade the whole system and just get a performance boost by trading up just the APU for the 5600GT.
