An eSIM is just similar to the normal SIM but Instead of a physical card, eSIM technology is built right into your phone.
The dual-SIM users should not be worried as the eSIM technology supports multiple accounts and switching between is easy. With an eSIM, your phone has some new settings devoted to your SIM card that allow you to switch between lines and carriers and manage accounts.
iOS allows you to store more than one eSIM on your iPhone. iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and later feature Dual SIM with a nano-SIM and an eSIM. You can store more than one eSIM on your iPhone, but you can use only one at a time. To switch eSIMs, tap Settings, tap either Cellular or Mobile Data and then tap the plan you want to use. Then tap turn on this line.
Apple’s Dual SIM feature has only one physical SIM card slot and another is a programmable eSIM card. After your eSIM connection is activated, your eSIM will be saved to your iPhone. You can then choose to turn off the connection and download another eSIM and activate the connection. Only one eSIM connection can be active at a time.
There are a number of private telecom operators that are providing eSIM services in India including Airtel, Jio & Vi.
