The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor based on TSMC’s four-nanometer process adopts a “1+4+3” architecture. The largest core is an ARM Cortex-X4 CPU with a running clock of up to 3GHz, and is equipped with 4 cores with a clock speed of 2.8GHz. The A720 CPU is composed of three A520 CPUs with a clock speed of 2GHz, and the graphics computing chip is Adreno 735 GPU. The overall computing performance is slightly lower than that of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (adopting “1+5+2” core architecture, maximum core clock of 3.3 GHz; graphics computing chip is Adreno 750GPU).
The industry expects that the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which also supports AI models, will make the price of AI high-end flagship phones more affordable and cost-effective than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. .
Qualcomm also announced that the first wave of devices equipped with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 flagship mobile processors will include Xiaomi, iQOO, realme, Redmi, Honor and other brand manufacturers. The first model to be launched the fastest will be launched before the end of March. Xiaomi officials earlier announced that the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, which is ready to be launched in the Chinese market, will be the first flagship new phone equipped with the latest Qualcomm S8s Gen 3 processor. The specific release time has not yet been announced.
