Google Maps has been quietly upgraded! Google has officially pushed an update to Google Maps on Wear OS watches. Now the navigation can display the timetable of public transportation, and you can know at a glance when the MRT and buses will arrive at the station.
Originally, when opening Google Maps navigation through a smart watch, only walking and driving route options were available. However, Google recently announced during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) that it would bring more detailed navigation instructions for public transportation to Wear OS. According to the reporter’s actual measurement using Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, Google has launched this function, which can display the arrival time of the next bus or MRT just like the mobile app.
According to Google’s previous statement, this feature will support watches with Wear OS 3 or above, and requires an Android phone to remain connected to the Internet. On the market, such as Pixel Watch, Galaxy Watch (4th generation and later), OPPO Watch X, and Xiaomi Watch 2, you can enable this feature after downloading Google Maps from the Play Store.
