The iPad Mini 2 (formerly marketed as the iPad mini with Retina display) is a tablet computer produced and marketed by Apple. It has a nearly identical design to its predecessor the first-generation iPad Mini, but features internal revisions such as the addition of the A7 system-on-a-chip and 2,048 x 1,536 resolution Retina Display. Internally, the second-generation iPad Mini has nearly the same hardware as its sibling device, the iPad Air (1st generation). Apple released the second-generation iPad Mini in space gray and silver colors on November 12, 2013.

The iPad mini 2 supported 6 major iOS versions, which go by iOS 7, iOS 8, iOS 9, iOS 10, iOS 11, and iOS 12. The iPad mini 2 was the first iPad mini to support 6 major versions, and receive full support for all of them. It is also the first 64-bit iPad mini

It also includes a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2 MP FaceTime HD front-facing camera, support for 802.11n Wi-Fi networking, and an estimated 10 hours of battery life.

The audio playback of the second-generation iPad Mini is in stereo with two speakers located on either side of the lightning connector. The second-generation iPad Mini is available with 16, 32, 64 or 128 GB storage.

Details:
iPad mini with Retina display is amazing to hold. And behold. Every photo is incredibly detailed and vibrant, and every line of text is remarkably crisp and clear. With higher resolution than an HDTV, it’s stunning – on a whole new scale. That’s a 2048-by-1536 resolution, four times the resolution of the previous-generation iPad mini. In fact, the pixels are so close together, your eyes can’t distinguish them. So photos and videos show incredible detail and text is razor sharp. Because the best pixels are the ones you never see.

iPad mini keeps you connected faster than ever. In more locations than ever. Using two antennas instead of one and MIMO technology, iPad mini delivers twice the Wi-Fi performance of its predecessor.

With an A7 chip, advanced wireless, and powerful apps – all beautifully integrated with iOS 7 – iPad mini with Retina display lets you do more than you ever imagined. Yet it’s still thin and light (and mini). So while you can do even more, you won’t feel like you’re holding any more.

Don’t let its size fool you. iPad mini is powered by the new A7 chip with 64-bit architecture. A7 delivers killer performance — up to four times faster CPU and up to eight times faster graphics performance than the previous generation — without sacrificing battery life. So you get incredible power in a device you can take with you wherever you go.

iPad apps are like no other. Because they’re designed just for iPad, they look amazing and use every pixel of the beautiful display. iPad mini comes with great built-in apps for the everyday things you do, like checking email and surfing the web. To help you be even more creative and productive, iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are now available for free. And over 475,000 other incredible iPad apps are just a tap away in the App Store.2 With apps like these, iPad mini can do just about anything — which means you can, too.

iOS 7 was designed to take advantage of 64-bit architecture. So it’s every bit as advanced as the iPad mini it runs on. And with new features like smarter multitasking, Control Center, and AirDrop, iOS 7 makes the experience of using iPad mini even more beautiful and simple. Because iOS 7 and iPad mini weren’t just designed to work together, they were designed to enhance one another.

The redesigned Smart Cover and new Smart Case are a perfect fit for iPad mini. They automatically wake it when opened and put it to sleep when closed. They also fold to create a great stand for reading, viewing, and typing.

  1. Man I know I used to smash this thing when I was a 5 year old it’s still in my cobord and now im using a iPad 9th gen and I’m thinking to upgrade to a 256GB 11 inch iPad Pro 4th gen

  2. I have this iPad and it's really fast on the internet, downloading apps is fast and social media is fast. Mine is 32gb and I have 50 apps and still have loads of space left.

  3. Mine still can be use as music stations when connected to bluetooth speaker and play Music Youtube or Apple Music.
Also this device still can play netflix, disney+, prime video so convenient to have small tablet that can play updated movies.. plus if you using TWS it'll be fantastic because the spatial effect of the videos can be enjoyed too..
Luckily my fav legacy apps for manga reader (aggregator) still have it before removed from the apps store so still enjoyed reading manga from this device..

  4. I got my iPad Mini 2 free from Verizon, when I bought the (then) top-of-the-line iPhone 6s Plus for $199! I’ve never seen a deal like that since. I don’t use my iPad that often, but I wanted to use it today in the kitchen while I was doing some baking. It will not download YouTube. From your video, I’m wondering if it’s trying to download the more up-to-date version that I have on my iPhone 12 Pro. If you think that’s the problem, how would I download an earlier version of YouTube to my iPad? And if I do so, will it put the older version on my phone, as well?

  5. Using the mini2 now, it’s mostly an external screen for my laptop or for the kids to watch YouTube , “system data” takes up 10GB of 16GB on here so it can’t hold too much but safari works fine as mentioned.

  6. It's shitty on apples part, because even though you can't download the current updates for apps such as YouTube, they completely disable the ability to download the latest COMPATABLE versions of apps to work with the iPad mini 2. The reasoning being that want to discourage continuous use of this epad to pus you to buy a current or newer version. Typical apple shit… Fucking over the consumer

  7. I just turned on my mini 2 after a couple years. It seems to get pretty hot just surfing the web. Kinda stupid since it did this same task effortlessly a decade ago. It’s not like I’m running a game or anything. I’ll just use it to watch YouTube I guess.
