  1. the cost per frame chart gives you a good answer of how to interpretate the data: for 1080 competiitve shooter and CPU heavy games the 5800x3D HEAVILY outclasses the 5600x. For 1440p casual gaming were talking about a roughly 10-15% performance increase for double the price, so probably not worth it unless you have the money.

  2. A balanced combo is a 3900x and RTX4700 to avoid bottleneck, though the 4700 card bottlenecks the 3900 by about 3-5%. Yes. The old 3900X. By rights it pairs with a 4800 Nvidia card perfect. Ryzen 5 or 7 will bottleneck any 4000 series card by a bjt, but not bad. Newer Ryzens, a 4900x wojkd be warrented if not higher if possible.

  3. You are GPu limited in most these tests bro, goodness. If you want to test CPU perf you gotta make sure they are the bottleneck. That SOULD be basic knowledge for a "tech" channel, geez.

  4. It's really dependent on the games you play. Given that i played 7 days to die a bit too much when i was in the market for an upgrade its what i went with. From a 2600/6900xt my FPS at 4k went from 3 minimum 40 average (yes, 3) to 60 minimum 110 average. It's a godsend in some titles.

  5. I thought the 5700x was the best middle ground between cost, energy expenditure, and performance and grabbed one this past month for 250$ CAD. the drawback with the 5800x3d, aside from the initial extra 200$ CAD, is that you'd need a big ass, potentially expensive cooler to go with it. I used the money I saved to get a nice little Noctua single tower to replace the 212 I've been using mostly because it's such a pain to mount lol (I'm lucky in that I live in a cool room and can get away with it). either way, it's pretty neat you can plunk either into an AM4 system and totally revive it if, for example, you get yourself a 4070 and 1440p monitor.

  6. Like the channel but 3080? Why not a midrange AMD? I have a 5800X3D because I bought it at $280 severely inflated USD and I haven't even bothered to install it in the last 5 months, but I will and it will be better. The averages or the highs are never of interest to me. Nobody needs help with the highs, it's the lows where you need help.

  7. Ryzen 7 5800x3D gives you better future proofing with 8 Cores/16 Threads also descent bump in performance and will handling without bottlenecking some of the Higher End GPU's currently out like RTX 4070Ti

  8. Agree overall — well you don't have to be a rocket scientist and do a complicated comparison to see 5800x3d is "better" for gaming. If such primitive conclusions make you feel you've done a good job for us watching this, you're mistaken. Other than that the logic is not right: saying that 5800x3d is for people with money is just wrong and actually quite condescending. You have no reason to offer to invest 200 USD into another GPU instead, because you have no idea which GPUs we are running. If I see 20-30 FPS growth in the games I play it means 5800x3d is a great choice. You also don't take into consideration user's overall system price and the specific games that you chose to test, the results can be squeezed and skewed anywhere – for better and for worse. Oversimplification is a bad thing. These 200 bucks are a different thing for each of us.

  9. I had a Ryzen 5 2600 and I switched 1 year and a half ago to the Ryzen 5 5600x and I was happy, there's a big difference, even though it only has 6 cores and I'm still happy with the RTX 3060 ti…

  11. I have a 6950xt and 5600x got the 56 super cheap I also have a kit of ddr5 that came with my gpu. I play on a benq mobius 1440 240hz and really thinking about going am5 with boards being affordable now and cpus are about the same price to upgrade

  12. What’s the opinion on going from 5600x to the 3D as of right now if I find one?

I was running a b450 weeks ago from my original build, the tomahawk died 😞 so being I needed a board I got a b550 thinking my good memory would work = NOPE. I then go on to purchase memory also.

Reason is, I may be bottleneck a bit as I’m running 5600x with the XFX MERC 319 black 7800xt.

    Aquired a card $571
    Board dies $200
Try to save $ but need memory $80
I know choice is leaving your old build “intact” but you can see my situation I was in.

  13. please show competitive games like mw2/wz/csgo etc on competitive settings. watch a few pros settings videos if u need. the high settings are useless for the most part. thank u in advance.

  14. almost no difference in games I would be intersted in playing from the ones benchamrked
I might pick up one later down the line when they are cheaper….I got the 5600x for less than half of what 5800x3d costs and pretty happy

it really depends what GPU you have, what resolution and framerate you play at and what RAM you have
if you have cheap RAM with slow timings the 5800x3d will help more than if you have fast RAM….and some games will benefit from it and some games not so much

  15. So I have ordered the rx 7900 xtx to use in 4k on oled screen and right now I got a 5600 in my system. So as far as I understand, there is bo rush to grab the 5800x3d?

  16. This video's conclusion makes me even happier to own the 5600X. There's definitely no reason to pay double for the 5800X3D and get only a modest performance boost.

  17. The N* result is that if you got the right GPU to push those FPS up , the 5800x3d is the best choice … if not , 5600x or 5700x are perfect cpu's .

  18. I play everything on 1080p and low settings, mostly competitive games such as Apex, Warzone, Cs, Valorant, PUBG. I currently have a 4070 and a R5 5600x and feel like the cpu caps alot… Especially in PUBG my fps are at about 150 most of the time, would a upgrade to the 5800x3d useful in my case?

  19. I have a rtx 3090, currently with a ryzen 5600. Mostly play Warhammer and simmilar titles. Would it be worth it to upgrade to the 7 5800x3d? All the benchmarks with the 3090 indicate 100 fps while I only get about 80 with this cou..

  20. If the 5800x3d could boost to 4.65ghz single core, then it would be worth it.
But because it has weaker single core than the 5600x, it's a "win sometimes and lose sometimes, for hundreds of dollars" choice.
May as well just get a 7600x or 7700
