Overall, the display on the iPhone 7 is very high resolution and the battery on the iPhone 7 Plus lasts for a long time and easily compares to modern smartphones. The iPhone 7 Plus has 2 cameras, both being decent quality, just not comparable to modern smartphones. The main concern is the speed. The iPhone 7 has a decent 3GB of RAM, but it still has the Apple A10 chip, which will not perform basic tasks very well (for comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro has the A17 Pro chip).
My best alternatives to the iPhone 7 Plus are the iPhone 8/8 Plus and the iPhone SE 2nd Gen.
