In this video, a former Apple tech explain what to do when your iPhone won’t download apps. Usually, this is the result of a software issue. Begin by turning your iPhone off and back on by pressing and holding the power button and swiping the power icon from left to right when the slider appears on the screen.
Next, make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data. If it’s not or if it’s in Airplane mode, your iPhone won’t download apps from the App Store.
Next, check Restrictions on your iPhone in the General submenu of the Settings app. Make sure the switches next to the App Store are turned on (green and positioned to the right). If any of these switches are turned off, it could be the reason why you can’t download apps on your iPhone.
If everything is normal so far, try closing and reopening the App Store. It’s possible that the App Store crashed and that’s why you can’t download app on your iPhone.
Next, we’ll try some more advanced resets and restores to fix your iPhone that won’t download apps. First, try resetting all settings, which resets all the data in the Settings app to factory defaults.
