Apple on Tuesday finally released the MagSafe Duo Charger, which is a $129 charger that combines an iPhone 12 MagSafe charger with an Apple Watch charging puck.

We picked up one of the new ‌MagSafe‌ Duo chargers to see if it’s worth Apple’s super high asking price.

  1. I got it as a birthday present and loved the design. Word it didn't come with the wall charger but also I find hard for my iPhone 14 to find the sweet spot to actually charge. I need to move it and that's not very nice. Maybe my case is too thick? who knows but it's not as easy in my case

  2. If you would have bought a 2nd one of those charging stands for $80, it would basically be buying the duo for $160. Then you factor in the fact they would be separate, and would need it’s own cord and brick.

You were completely right about Apple not including the brick, in somthing that is based around charging. They would have been better off giving the brick and not the cord like you mentioned.

  3. Companies change over time. Apple is not the same company it was in the 80’s or 90’s. It changed again after Jobs died. Now, they’ve become very elites. Things are overpriced, and Apple knows that. They’re telling you that this is the price you pay to be in this club. You don’t like it – you don’t have to be here. Honestly, as a long time Apple user – it hurts. Apple has positioned itself along side the upper echelons of our society. The rich won’t complain like us, because the rich can afford not to worry about money. It’s like having a high end car. $2000 to change the oil. LOL. We all have to decide whether we can afford to exist in Apple’s club, because it isn’t for the poor.

  4. No usb c, only 2 charging spots, and no power brick. What are they thinking? 🙁 Biggest draw backs making this age pretty poorly. I'd pay $150 with all of those… but they missed on this softball pitch. Could have been on of the great products from Apple.

  5. Hi, do I need a special phone case to use this charger. The assistant at the Apple store told me that it won't work with a iphone 13 mini unless I put the phone in a special case that has a coil built into it.

  6. Why on earth did they give it a lightning input. If they also made it USB-C, then you could simply just bring the Magsafe Duo and also your Macbook charger/cable. Now you still need to bring two cables..
