Memory tricks
Especially the small 16 GB models require a clever memory management. So that the space on your new iPhone SE is not running out, you can try the following tricks.
Disable live photos
Live photos record 1.5 seconds of the action before and after a photo and "bring it to life". The result is a 3-second clip that you can play via Touch ID (press display firmly). The cool feature consumes a lot of battery, so you can disable the live photos. In the Camera app, tap on the yellow circle icon.
Lower video quality
Your iPhone can make great 4K videos, but also occupy a lot of space. Especially with 16 GB models, it is therefore advisable to lower the video quality a bit. Open the settings, tap Photos & Camera and select a lower quality video (eg 720p).
Use iCloud to optimize storage of photos
If you have a lot of photos on your iPhone, you should consider using the iCloud Photo Library. In Settings> iCloud> Photos you can then select Optimize iPhone memory. This means that the originals are kept in iCloud, while optimized versions are available on your iPhone (the original can always be downloaded if needed). Use Night Shift mode
If you prefer to use your iPhone at bedtime in the evening, you can activate Night Shift to save your eyes and sleep better. Night Shift can be quickly activated in the control center by tapping the Night Shift button.
Use animated background
Even a little individuality is possible. Sets an animated wallpaper by tapping Dynamic in the settings under Background Image> Select New Background and selecting one of the high-resolution wallpapers.
Use screen flash for photos
If you take a selfie, you can use the display of your iPhone SE as a flash. The so-called Retina Flash makes your screen shine 3x brighter than usual. Activates the screen flash in the camera app by tapping the bottom of the flash icon.
"Hey Siri" use without charging cable
Thanks to a new, stronger processor, Apple also allows the iPhone SE to use the "Hey Siri" voice command to talk to Siri even when your iPhone is not plugged in. This feature must first be enabled in Settings> General> Siri by enabling "Hey Siri".
Protect notes with password or Touch ID
You can protect your notes from unauthorized access by tapping in the Notes app in a note in the top right corner of the Share icon and tapping Note protected.

1st Generation Touch ID – Improve detection
Apple seems to have saved a little on the Touch ID sensor and has donated the iPhone SE "only" the sensor of the 1st generation, which also comes with the iPhone 5s used.
