The Tower Theater in Los Angeles, one of Apple’s renovation projects, will be reborn as the Apple Store and will open on June 24th.
Maintaining the brilliant Neo-Renaissance architectural style of the theater
The Tower Theater is a historic cinema that opened in 1927 in the Broadway Theater District in downtown Los Angeles.
Tower is the first cinema in Los Angeles to be wired for vocal films, with a sneak preview of Warner Bros. Pictures’ innovative part-talking movie The Jazz Singer (1927) starring Al Jolson and Los Angeles. It is also the place where the premiere took place. It is also known as the first air-conditioned theater in Los Angeles.
This renewal incorporates French, Spanish, Moorish and Italian elements and maintains the splendid Neo-Renaissance architectural style of the theater interior, which was built to mimic the Parisian opera house.
When the face-to-face event resumes, the Apple Tower Theater will host a free Today at Apple session for the community on the theater’s video wall where the original projection screen was. ..
