Scan PDF documents, sign & request signature via app
Scan documents as PDF
It's easy to scan a document – for example, an invoice or a document – with the iPhone. All you need is an app that lets you scan documents as a PDF. The following apps are suitable for this:
- Scanbot – for free
- InstaPDF – for free
- Scanner Pro – 2,99 €
No matter which app you choose, they all work very much alike. You point the iPhone camera at a document and the scanner app does the rest. Scanned documents can then be shared.
Sign PDF documents
PDFs that are available on your iPhone can also be signed, provided that they have the appropriate app. For example, you can use the following apps:
- Adobe Acrobat Reader – free
- PDF Expert 7 – 10,99 €
In the Documents view, these apps give you the option to add a signature. This can be created either directly with the finger on the iPhone display. Or you use a scanned signature.
Request signed PDF documents
This point is particularly relevant for those who need signed documents in the business environment. Requesting signed, digital documents can be cumbersome if the customer does not know the apps listed above under Signing PDF Documents. Our own web-based services allow you to request signed PDF documents across platforms. Examples are:
- DocuSign
- PandaDoc
These offerings are more for business users and are based on a monthly subscription.
Sign documents on the iPhone with iOS on-board resources
If you are reluctant to use third-party apps, you can also sign PDF documents with pre-installed features and send them back to the sender.
