Apple Music and Amazon Prime raise subscription prices

In a second surprise ahead of today’s uproar over Amazon’s Prime fee hike, Apple also decided to raise the price of Apple Music for students as a prelude to what’s to come.

Apple Music for students costs 5,99 euros, while Amazon has raised the price of Prime to 49,90 euros per year. Tech companies are fighting inflation and rising production costs in this way, so what happens next?

While Spotify, the leader in streaming music (and therefore unprofitable…) continues to run the show, Apple has made changes to its monthly subscription service, in this case for Apple Music students version it’s price has risen sharply. When we say “significant”, we do not mean an increase of one euro, but that this euro has now accounted for 20% of the total price, so in proportion, the increase is quite significant.

That said, it is in line with Amazon Prime, which announced a rise from 36 euros to 49,90 euros, which would mean almost 40% of the total price of the service. However, the set of features or added value offered by Amazon Prime is far from that offered by other services dedicated to streaming specific content.

Because it’s possible, Apple Music for students now costs € 5,99, which is € 5,99 more than before. Meanwhile, the price of standard Apple Music remains unchanged at 9,99 euros for the time being. Given the price hikes at all companies, these prices are likely to go up, so now is a good time to buy a prepaid card.
