After arriving in Vietnam, Cook said he was excited to meet Vietnamese content creators, students and customers and learn how they use Apple products. At the same time, Apple also announced its commitment to further strengthen its presence in Vietnam, including increasing spending on suppliers and providing financial support to schools’ “Clean Water Programs.”

Cook’s itinerary in Vietnam was quite compact. He flew back and forth on a private jet and stayed at a local five-star hotel. Apple opened an Apple Store in Vietnam last May and launched Apple Pay service in August. Apple is also actively taking photos of Vietnamese streets to improve the local Apple Maps map service. In addition, Apple has also expanded local recruitment and plans to hire engineers to develop the Vietnamese Siri voice assistant.

According to reports in December last year, foreign media revealed that Apple is expected to launch iPad 11 in the second half of this year and plans to cooperate with BYD to set up the iPad 11 production line in Vietnam. Previously, Apple has produced AirPods headphones and other products in Vietnam.
