Today, Apple pushed the second public beta version of iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 to public testers. Coming just two weeks after the last public beta, this update allows non-developers to get an early taste of the new system.
iOS 17.5 mainly made some adjustments for the EU market and did not introduce many new features for the world. App developers in the EU can now list iPhone apps on their websites for users to download directly without going through the App Store.
But not all developers can enjoy this feature. To provide App downloads on EU websites, developers need to meet specific criteria, such as being a member of the Apple Developer Program for more than two consecutive years and having more than one million first-time installs of iOS apps in the EU in the past year. Additionally, you will need to comply with Apple’s notarization process and publish a transparent data collection policy.
In addition to this major change for the EU, iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 also updated the mobile device management (MDM) function, and the code level hints that the battery health function for the new iPad will be launched soon, as well as the reminder function of third-party item trackers .

Users who want to experience the public beta version need to go to the iOS 17 preview page on Apple’s official website to apply to join the Apple Beta software program.
