Reliable whistleblower @L0vetodream proposed on Twitter today that the redesigned MacBook that will be launched in the second half of 2021 will include models that use both Apple Silicon and Intel processors.
Previously, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo issued a report, claiming that Apple plans to release redesigned MacBook models using Apple Silicon in the second half of 2021.
L0vetodream just said that it is expected that the redesign of the MacBook in the second half of 2021 will not only be for the Apple Silicon model, which means that the redesign will also appear on the new Intel-based MacBook.
Apple just released the first batch of Apple Silicon Edition Macs, including MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini. Although the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini still have some shortcomings compared to the higher-priced Intel counterparts, they have shown better performance in some core benchmark tests, and even compared with the 16-inch MacBook Pro in some tasks. High-end machines can rival or surpass.
Therefore, L0vetodream’s statement is a bit strange, because these rumored redesigned MacBooks are still more than 6 months away, which gives Apple time to further improve the performance of Apple Silicon.
At WWDC in June, when Apple announced the transition from Mac to Apple Silicon, it said that the transition to Apple Silicon will take about two years, and the new Mac with Intel processors is still under development.
