Renowned analysts predict that Apple will reshuffle suppliers responsible for manufacturing AirPods Pro, Apple Watch chips, iPod touch and other devices by 2020.

Minchi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities known for its Apple-related forecasts, has announced in a note to investors about the restructuring of the supplier responsible for assembling products.

According to Kuo, Goertek will be added in the first half of 2020 as a supplier of AirPods Pro manufacturing in addition to the existing Luxshare Precision, and the current supply shortage is expected to improve.

AirPods Pro has been running out of stock worldwide right after its release, and at the time of this writing, it is reported that the delivery schedule is about one month later.

Apple Watch chips and iPod touch manufacturing reorganized

Kuo predicts that Luxshare will take over the production of the S-series chips for the 2020 Apple Watch Series 6 from Quanta Computer.

According to his memo, BYD Electronic will be responsible for the production of iPod touch on behalf of Quanta Computer in 2020, as well as 10% to 20% of iPads (Wi-Fi models). It is also forecast that BYD Electronic’s supply will increase further after 2021 if things go well.

“It’s interesting to see Apple change the manufacturing of iPod touch, which it hasn’t been focusing on in recent years. Something might change,” said iMore.

By the end of 2019, The Information reports that Goertek and Luxshare, who are responsible for manufacturing the AirPods series, are raising hundreds of millions of dollars in Vietnam to boost production capacity.
