In the iPhone 11 series, it has been found that Apple is addressing the issue of location information being acquired even if the location information acquisition setting is turned off in iOS 13.3.1 beta 2.
Apple explains why UWB chip
In the iPhone11 Pro, security researchers pointed out that even if location information acquisition was disabled, an icon indicating location information acquisition was displayed next to the remaining battery level. Apple responded, “Location acquisition is not completely disabled because it determines whether the iPhone is located in an area where ultra-wideband (UWB) use is prohibited. We do not collect user location information. ” The iPhone11 series has a UWB-compatible U1 chip.
However, Apple has since commented that iPhone11 series users will have a dedicated toggle that can completely turn off location acquisition.
New toggle added in iOS13.3.1 beta 2
When Brandon Batch examined iOS 13.3.1 Beta 2 released on January 14, local time, it found that “ privacy ” → “ location-based service ” → “ system service ”, “ new networking and I found that the toggle “Wireless” was added.

When you turn off this toggle, you’ll see a notification that “Turn off networking and wireless location services may affect Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and ultra-wideband (UWB) performance.”
