  1. $6,000 for a computer that I could build on the PC end for $3,000 or even less? That Apple tax stings. My i9 13900k, 128GB of Ram, and RTX-4090 PC literally cost me $3,100. The M2 Ultra that even comes close to that performance is $6,000.

  4. Hi, Max…can you make a video where you suggest the best monitor or monitors for the MacStudio?
    I'm saving up for a MAcStudio M2, but I want to purchase a suitable monitor in the same breath.

  5. I know its a harder methodology, but I wish those tests would do a real life video editing workflow. Exporting =/= editing. Exporting time are way less crucial than transcoding, timeline fluidity, multicam editing, grading performance, etc.

  11. I had a MacStudio on June 2023 (M2 Max 64GB) but it haven't worked work well with iMovie (always bug and turning rainbow). If you have one, just try to work with videos those are longer than 10 min videos to edit and see what happens. Apple changed my MacStudio but the same problem still exits. They have collected the info from it and I'm waiting for their answer. Like a joke but not. Apple made me upset. I paid Apple a lot of money to get my work done, but it has failed me for over a month. (They didn't even send a replacement computer) How can I trust Apple like ancient anymore?

  16. I use Blender and Houdini a lot. I’m just about to get a Studio Max. I’ve been using Windows for most of my life but after I purchased a MacBook Air earlier this year I’ve just really preferred MacOS compared to Windows, in every way. So far as render performance, once Apple adds raytrace cores that Metal can use it’ll be very powerful on that end, too. And, considering the power the Apple silicone chips have compared to RTX, raytrace performance isn’t actually all that bad. I think Apple’s solution will end up being implemented better. NVidia is trying to brute force it to win some arbitrary battle.

  21. For 3d work.. you might want to look at Cinema 4d and Team-render or deadline – You can then get a barebones PC just to hold an Nviida GPu. So then everything you do the studio is fine then final 3d rendering just use network rendering over to the PC in the corner…

  22. no pc can do what the mac does in the first place or as well for that matter so no matter how fast a pc you build it wont beat a mac period apple has no competition at all other then gamming capabilities and that is going to change as well seening as apple has gone full in on AAA gaming how ever there is still way to much BS hype on the even top end studio or macpro or any M series mac

  24. I just upgraded my 2014 iMac to an M2 Max Studio with Studio Display. 32 gig ram, 2 terabyte SSD. It's fast but also feels boring. I didn't get the wow factor. Over time maybe I'll begin to see the time savings and the elimination of certain hassles that the 2014 model gave me.

  25. Can anyone explain to me why everyone in LTT comments are just blatantly dumb? The price to performance increase obviously comes from the 2 thousand dollar version. Yet everyone can’t comprehend that he’s only comparing the 4 thousand dollar model. You can’t buy a 4090 and a 13900K for cheaper than 2K. That’s two parts. This entire computer is 2K I feel like I’m actually losing my fucking mind. Am I missing something?
