  1. Great Video. I've used the pluggable device for a couple of years now, and I also use the Display link manager. However, this week, I took my Mac for services, and when I tried to set the monitors not working anymore, only the Two. What can I do?

  2. It drives me crazy how much garbage is there in the mac world.
We fail to understand it's all just circuits and all these extra things are deliberate attempts to make our life miserable.
If M1 can support 6k single monitor, why can't it handle the compute of two 1080ps??
We need legislation for this. Every "extra adaptor" is a potential liability.

  3. Just heard in another video that m1 pro 2021 and later (v2 of m1 chip) do support 2 external display.

Checking official tech specs for 2021 MBP m1 pro, it seems they do list that it supports two 6K @ 60Hz and 1 HDMI at 4K @ 60Hz.

So the 2 6K@60Hz must be from the 3 available Thunderbolt 4 ports on this MBP, which means using up two independent docking station/hub should be able to detect 2 external monitor(in theory) but not sure about ABC mode or ABB mode when extending both of them (the other guy’s video was extending 2 so totaling 3 independent displays).

Though not sure again about daisy chaining or multiple monitors on single TB4 port (the other guy’s video showed his m1 MBP 2021 did use single port to a hub where 2 external displays were connected)

    From Apple tech specs:

    Display Support
Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display at 1 billion colors and:

Up to two external displays with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors (M1 Pro) or
Up to three external displays with up to 6K resolution and one external display with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors (M1 Max)
    Thunderbolt 4 digital video output

    Native DisplayPort output over USB‑C
VGA, HDMI, DVI, and Thunderbolt 2 output supported using adapters (sold separately)
    HDMI digital video output

Support for one display with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz
DVI output using HDMI to DVI Adapter (sold separately)

I can confirm that running 2 monitors off of 1.USB-c-to-hdmi and 2. HDMI port on MBP m1 2023, works flawlessly(except colors on converted channel c-to-hdmi seems washed out, maybe subpar adapter).

Needed some clarity before buying a docking hub for my dual display setup. (For me if 1 display being mirrored and other being extended without mac’s internal works just fine in clamshell mode)

  4. Hi, I just started working for a non-profit last month after being a SAHM for 20+ yrs. They provided me with a Lenovo Ideapad 1 14IAU7 which, according to its specs (like my 2020 MacBook Air M1), will only support its native monitor and one external monitor. I can work remotely, but also like to go into the office. So, the solution I am looking for will make it possible to, not only, use two independent external monitors, but to be able to easily switch from the Lenovo to the MacBook. Hoping you can help. Thanks!

  5. Jer, this was great. Thanks so much. Your solution worked like a charm! I'm trying to use the Minisopuru hub w/Displaylink and a USB c switch. I've seen you do that too. Which switch do you use?

  6. I was NOT surprised when I got my Mac Mini M2 and I could only add two monitors readily without an expensive hub. It's always been the same old story with Apple. I'll be happy with Apple when they aren't so chintzy about the same number of ports and monitor capability that you get with the cheapest, crappiest non-Mac mini desktop for free.

  7. Thanks a lot for the video !
I’m using one 4K one 1080p external screen, however it seems that the 4K resolution has been decrease for even less than 1080p after this method … it becomes super blurred

  8. I noticed the CableCreative adapters you linked in the blog post are USB3.0 to HDMI, but my mac only has 2 USB-C ports. Do I need to purchase a separate displaylink certified usb-c to usb3.0 adapter then plug in the usb3.0 cablecreative adapter? (not keen on buying a docking station as I’m tight on budget)

  9. I have the Lenovo thinkpad dock. You said this will work with 2 monitors on my M1. Do I just download the display link software or do I also need the other cable adapters?😊

  10. I have one 5k 120hz ultrawide and two fhd monitors. Can i plug the 5k one in via Thunderbold Displayport and the other two via displaylink?

  11. Do I need 2? Or can I have one linked regularly through adapter and then one extra display link adapter?

Currently have two monitors one HDMI and one VGA ..
only HDMI is in use and I’m wondering if I can get one display link for the other monitor. Instead of 2.

  12. Glad I found this before i buy wrong mac lol. Can someone break this down for me so if I buy a MacBook Pro I can use two of my studio displays easily yes or no? My situation is I travel for work so at home would have two studio displays, but when I go to the other office it would be The third-party type of screens so I want to make it easy when I travel between my house and the office out of town, so should I buy the pro with M2 max chip to make life easy?

  13. I purchased the Minisopuru as suggested for my Macbook M1. The dual monitors worked for a few days until I needed to update my OS to Ventura and now it doesn't work. I've updated DisplayLink's drivers and still nothing has worked. Can you please offer me advice?
