iPad Pro! My Only Computer | Full iPadOS 17 Workflow!

My iPad Pro has been my favorite tech product of all time. I use it for everything from video creation to personal finance to gaming and everything in between. I wanted to show off how I use my iPad in conjunction with my iPhone in my workflow.

  1. you can bypass the external SSD with a Wifi Connected NAS. granted a HDD local NAS is slower, you can get somes with a SSD. with this no need to plug; un-plug. here the only limitation is how fast your wifi is and if you want to access it away from home is youer internet speed. I use a WD MyCloud, works wonders.

  2. Bought my first iPad, on Fri 16th feb '24, though have been a regular iPhone user since the iPhone 3G. Am finding a lot of cool apps for it, and have been an Affinity user on the PC since before they first launched the range, as I was able to beta test the first Affinity Photo.šŸ¬

  3. I still use the iPad but I ditched the iPhone. The Apple tax plus the iPhone is $250 to $500 more than equivalent Android phone.

Had to turn off messages and FaceTime on the iPad but it works. The iPad is a good replacement for the desktop for most users. Wait way too long but ordered a Logitech combo keyboard to enter customer data.

Note I mostly use cloud based products but the iPad works for business.

Will I buy another one or go back to the iPhone, who knows. The Surface Pro is real good but the thing is heavy!

  4. for my ipad to be my main pc, i need pc apps to be the same on ipad. ms office isnā€˜t anywhere near usable, autocad for example is easy for the m1 but the software is just garbage

  5. Good video. I have been an iPad only guy for the past 4 years and wonā€™t go back. Project Manager in Construction and there are just too many things that an iPad can do, that a MacBook cannot do (FOR ME). Sure hope they keep improving the external monitor support as it is still super flaky and full of bugs.

  6. Now that Iā€™ve transitioned to 100% iPad pro because we have great external drive support and Stage Manager. I have several 2Tb SSD drives attached to my thunderbolt 4 dock and now I wonder if I can plug my powered 3.5ā€ hard drive hub into the thunderbolt dock, that dock has around 16 Tb of storage that would be nice to access from time to time, I need to test it, plug it in and see if it will work, being externally powered Iā€™m thinking it just might give me access. Iā€™m not sure if iPadOS has a drive capacity limit or not.

  7. Hi and thanks for your great videos. My iPad pro setup is almost exactly like yours and Iā€™ve almost completely retired my Windows laptop. As iPadOS has evolved, we can now use external drives and I have 11TB of storage attached to my iPad pro, Iā€™m using multiple 2TB SSD drives plus 1Tb onboard storage. The storage and access to it was my biggest reason for keeping my Windows laptop, to manage my data, I now have all my 4k drone footage, 4k insta360 files, 4K GoPro files at my finger tips for video production on LumaFusion. The upgrade for Stage Manager has elliminated my need to use the Windows laptop, and now Iā€™ve ordered a new LG 34ā€ ultra-wide curved screen and a CalDigit thunderbolt 4 dock, these upgrades replace my LG 32ā€ ultra-wide flat screen and the Anker 777 thunderbolt dock. I think Iā€™m 100% iPad Pro nowā€¦finally replaced Windows and itā€™s perpetual upgrading. I may not ever purchase another windows laptop. Iā€™ve been waiting for this day for a very long time, iPad is so care free and always reddy to go, itā€™s never glitched on me and it doesnā€™t require a 30minut update every time I power it on. I really enjoy my apple products. itā€™s nice to see someone else has transitioned from Laptop to iPad pro.

  8. I have a 2020 11 inch iPad Pro. I do greatly enjoy using it, but as Iā€™m looking to get a new mobile device this year, Iā€™m very torn between getting a new iPad or a Microsoft Surface Pro device. I love my iPad, but it has glaring limitations and there are many apps that just donā€™t hold a candle to their desktop OS versions. I still havenā€™t decided which route Iā€™m going. I donā€™t want a MacBook because I do want a touch screen device.

  9. Ok, but when all is said and done, have you really gained anything vs just using the MacBook? I mean, thereā€™s a sense of accomplishment, sureā€¦but in the end itā€™s a certain amount of gymnastics with really no gain. Itā€™s like making your Honda run ā€œjust likeā€ a Mustang, when you could have just bought a Mustang in the first place.

And when you consider that if youā€™re something other than a YouTuber, thereā€™s a good chance youā€™ll need some software that simply isnā€™t there, or isnā€™t optimized, for iPad.

  10. I have the iPad Pro 6 12.9 with the M2 chip and think this thing is more than powerful enough to be able to dual boot iOS/MacOS. In all honesty iā€™m not 100% sure why Apple hasnā€™t done something similar to Chrome and allowed the installation and usage of iOS applications on MacOS anyway šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø
