Zorin OS is a heavily customized version of Ubuntu featuring an Ubuntu layout that you can access if you pay for it. (kinda weird) But overall this is an awesome option for those new to trying out Linux that might just want to use pre-existing settings to customize their desktops.

    I'm a 69 Year Old Knucklehead. I have a computer that I built. Its got five separate drives. My nagging problem is that not all Distros use their name in the Boot Menu. Most Ubuntu derivatives only list "Ubuntu" – even though they may be Debian, Mint, MX…. or any of the others. I wish someone could tell me a work around for this dilemma.

It's crucial to recognize that this Linux distro is uniquely well-crafted, boasting a consistent design language that holds significance for many users. Unlike other distros that appear like a mishmash of randomly assembled components, lacking thoughtful design guidelines, which can be off-putting for many users.

  7. If Ubuntu did something with their ugly GUI, then Ubuntu will be my choice.
    But Zorin OS 6.1 is still my favorite. Zorin 16 and 17 are not for old computers. Even their Lite versions are slow on a amd 5600.

  10. You think is compiz???? really??? you forget about compiz??? well let me tell you that, all animation and compositor like kwin & mutter with all its forks like gala, deepin-wm etc etc etc, all are compiz clone, they all wanna be compiz

  16. I am a KDE only guy, but, until 6 is ready, this is the best distro I have used so far. Speed, zero issues, Dual screen no problems, Wayland working fine. All apps I've tested have worked flawlessly. Honestly, if KDE doesn't get a in house display to tv sharing like gnome network monitors, I'll probably switch.

  20. You just unlocked a old memory on my brain when you said “compiz”. Basically in my computer beginning i never had a powerful computer to play the latest games so when my friends from l school came at me for CD swapping and burning, i tried to impress them with compiz. In that time everyone had XP so seeing burning windows, fire mouse pointer, a desktop swiching like a cube, etc 😅 I was the cool boy for like 2 weeks until a new PC game appears and they didn’t talk about my OS anymore. 😂
