macOS 14.2.1 tested with ALL UNSUPPORTED MAC GENERATIONS!

Join my Discord for Questions & Answers:

macOS 14.2.1 may create a KDK chaos on UNSUPPORTED MACs as OpenCore Legacy Patcher uses an older version of the KDK than for macOS 14.2! Therefore I tested all UNSUPPORTED MAC GENERATIONS with the new macOS update…

  1. 7:34 I think your meant USB 3.0, ive got the same issue, but after using a USB 2.0 Hub, and a restart ( Youll need it plugge din before a restart otherwise when you plug it in, and the install menu, it doesnt work) my mouse and keyboard worked.

  2. Ive done it also with a Macbook Pro 2017, iMac 2012, iMac 2009, everything runs very fine. Even the official updates are running perfect. Whats crazy ive updated with an iMac 2009 to Monterey, after that i was searching after updates from the settings menu, and it showed me, Macos Sonoma, ive downloadet it officialy, and runs very fine. Afetr the download startet, OpenCore detected a few root patches and updated it. But one problem ive had, in Macos install menu i had no mouse and keyboard. After using a USB 2.0 Hub, mouse and Keyboard works fine, its just in the install menu.

  3. And yet to my deep regret macbook pro 13 L2011 it is not possible to work. Very slow, BT does not work at all. I will have to install High Sierra and get by with it.

  4. Hi Jessie. I have a Mac Pro 4.1>5.1 with Monterey / Ventura dual boot and OCLP 0.6.8 but I can't install Sonoma. Since I started testing with OCLP 1.0.0, I cannot see the USB installer since OCLP 1.0.0 appeared. I have tried using the front and rear USB ports and the USB 3.0 PCI ports. I have installed OCLP from Big Sur and I have never had a problem but with Sonoma I can't. No problem with OCLP. Any suggestions on what I could try? Thanks in advance.

  5. Hello Jessie, I have a late 2012 Mac mini wich I updated to the Sonoma 14.3 and now after few minutes my computer got freeze, so I dont know whats going on with that computer.
Also I have a Late 2011 Macbook Pro wich I installed sonoma 14.1.2 and I updated all the patches with open core the 1.3.0 and everything loads normal but the screen is all white, so what shoul I do?

  6. Hello. I just upgraded 3 MacBook Pros, 2012, 2016 and a 2017 , all 13 inch models, to Sonoma 14.3 without any issues. The 3 systems are running OCLP 1.3.0. I didnt have to touch them during the upgrade, ie- pressing option key and selecting "Mac Installer" , they all installed without intervention . Awesome channel.

  7. If I delete all KDKs and then apply the Root Patch no KDK is being downloaded. I use OCLP 1.3.0 and Sonoma 14.2.1 on a MacBookPro9,2 (2012). I have to download them manually. Any idea what might be wrong with my installation?

  8. Hello colleague! A few weeks ago I was in a bind trying to install Mac os and thanks to your help I was able to solve it; I thank you very much for your attention.
Everything worked perfectly and I was able to install Monterrey (I decided to stick with this OS on Mac).

I am currently in a small detail; The iMac I have is the 14.3 with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics card with 1 GB and I have had problems with some software since they do not recognize the graphics card. Any advice that can help me solve this problem?

  9. Which OS upgrade would you suggest for my MacBook pro 9.2 (Mid 2012) non retina but with 16gb RAM and 256GB Samsung SSD and i7 processor, Monterey – Ventura – Sonoma, Usage is limited to web browsing only mostly as it is my secondary laptop, I am primary a window PC user….Thanks in advance.

  10. Okay yesterday I did the 14.2.1 update to my Mac Pro 5.1 (2011). It did everything fine I came to the Log-In screen and had no mouse or keyboard. So okay I connected USB-Mouse/keyboard on the Mac Pro 5.1 USB 2.0 Port no function either. Close to an heartattack and after a brake I had the idea to try to use the USB 3.0 Hub for the connection and it worked. I could log-in and OCLP popped up and I could make the root patches. Everything works fine now again. You mentioned it in your video but I just have seen it now. The KDK-story I will check tomorrow. Thanks anyway.

  11. Hi Jessie, i ran into a problem trying to update from 14.0 to 14.2.1. Open Core does it jobb and informing me about an update ongoing, and installing a KDK 14.2 build 23C63. Once restarted, computer get stuck. but thanks to your other video i fixed the bootup. what shall i do? install another KDK before the update? thanks!

  12. Me again. Did the OCLP upgrade and Sonoma update, through software update, on 2012 MacBook Pro and all is working fine. Cleaned up the kdkโ€™s too. Thanks

  13. I followed all the instructions, and even followed the other opencore installer guy on youtubes instructions, and still my 2013 macbook pro 9,2 says sonoma is unsupported. (When i do the reboot in safety mode, the sonoma sign is greyed out) so i cant install like that and the installtion app i have of sonoma in the launcher tells me its unsupported. Am i missing something? Any guidance would be appreciated

  14. I noticed the RX580 GPU in 2009 5,1 Mac Pro perform much worse in games after going from Sonoma 14.1 to 14.2.1. The benchmarks are nice, but the actual performance while gaming is worse. Performance is great in FCPX as well, so it just seems related to gaming… Any idea why? It's very noticeable for me.

  15. Hi and thanks — I always look forward to watching your videos and learn a lot. Your presentation and level of detail is excellent for a broad set of experience levels. I did perform an update on my 2014 iMac using an external SSD because the original fusion drive is defective. All went well with my install. thanks for all you do Tom

  16. Great video as always, Jessie. I am having issues with my Mac mini Mid 2011 crashing/freezing. It updated and installed just fine but after idle time, I walk back up to the computer and notice the screen is frozen on the desktop and I have to hard restart every time. Have you run into this issue?

  17. Hey, everybody.
Jesse, thank you for your video.
I came across the fact that OpenCore legacy Patcher does not pull up (download KDK files) on its own. I installed Sonoma using the installation usb disk method, and during the initial installation it installed KDK 23C5047e, then I manually installed 23C64. Did a test, uninstalled the existing KDK, ran OpenCore legacy Patcher 1.3.0 and it didn't even offer to install any KDK, so my laptop works without KDK)))))
I have a MacBook Pro 2015 Erly, installed Sonoma 14.2.1. Please help me to understand, what could be the problem why the KDK is not automatically loaded?

  18. This method doesn't work an Mac Mini late 2012 (6,2). Had major problems. Had to reinstall from the Internet! You say oclp will automatically install the KDK. MAybe that was the problem I had with my Mac mini?

  19. Hi Jessie my wife let my daughter use her MacBook Pro 2012 it was upgraded to Sonoma it has OCLP 1.2.0 installed. I did the root patcher and now upon reboot itโ€™s seems to be stuck in a boot loop. What can I do to get it back to normal?

  20. ๐Ÿ‘‹ Sir. What do you mean with jump updates? I'M running 14.0 and waiting to the last Sonoma update! Also If you use the usb method does open core adds the latest KDK along?

  21. I tried to upgrade my MacBook pro 2015, but with Sonoma the Mac appears more Slow, Thun I would Like to go back to Monterey, the os previously admitted by apple for this machine. How can I do (even if I have to re-install all my previous apps? Thanks.
