iPhone 5 : iOS 9.3.2 vs iOS 10 Beta 3 / Public Beta 2 Build 14A5309d Speed Test

Apple released iOS 10 Beta 3 to developers July 18th 2016, and public beta 2 on July 20th.

iOS 10 Beta 3 comes with more stability although it has
been pretty stable so far, it also comes with a handful
of new features and functions.

But lets test to see how it performs against iOS 9.3.2
(iOS 10 Beta 4 will be tested vs iOS 9.3.3 when beta
4 is released)

iOS 10 Beta 3 comes with build # 14A5309d

All devices has been fully restored, and loaded with
the same backup. The 4S devices are 32GB versions,
the 5 and 5S devices are 16GB versions and the
iPhone 6/6S are 64GB versions.

Conclusion :

Another smooth release of iOS 10. This beta seems work
very smooth. Notice the fast and more smooth way apps are closing, compared to iOS 9.3.2. Over all feeling is good. There
are some lag noticeable on the iPhone 5, but it runs almost up
to par on the 5s, 6 and 6S. Hopefully Apple will continue to
improve performance in the next many betas

  1. hey i wanna go back to ios 9.3.2 but it wont let me i download the right ipsw for iphone 5s gsm but when i go to restore it says iphone fimware not compatible

  2. Well, iOS 10 seems snappy enough on it BUT iOS 9.3.2 and 9.3.3 continues to be the two best final releases of all time to me, speaking of OS improvements as well as new functionalities.
In conclusion, although I would like to test the iOS10 Public Beta, I'm now 100% sure to stay with 9.3.3 for best performance over the new Beta release, even though I appreciate the faster "app closing" animation on iOS 10.

P.S. Not to mention that iOS 10 could be, and it is, if I think correctly, less secure on Public Betas due to the unencrypted kernel. Further I still have to appreciate the new Notification Center, I think the old one in iOS9 was/is a lot better, as well as the old lockscreen!

  3. Hi! Is New Siri functions already availables in DP3 / Public beta 2 for iPhone5? In Italy seems that all installations have still the old version with much worse old female voice and no extra skills.

  4. It's pretty amazing to see the iPhone 5 still being quick enough. Especially considering iOS 10 is the fourth major update (iOS 7, iOS 8, iOS 9, iOS 10). And not even mentioning iOS 10 is still in beta! iPhone 4s already had a lot of performance issues with iOS 7, which was the second major update for that device (iOS 6, iOS 7), and iOS 8 made that even worse! So I'm really happy to see Apple making a lot of progress in terms of performance and stability. Hope they keep that up!

Anyway, fantastic how you make all these videos, really appreciate that! And so quick too! 😀
