On March 24, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the 51st “Statistical Report on Internet Development in China” (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”).
The “Report” shows that as of December 2022, the number of netizens in my country will reach 1.067 billion, an increase of 35.49 million from December 2021, and the Internet penetration rate will reach 75.6%, an increase of 2.6 percentage points from December 2021.
As of December 2022, the total number of mobile communication base stations in my country has reached 10.83 million, a net increase of 870,000 compared with December 2021.
Among them, the total number of 5G base stations reached 2.312 million, accounting for 21.3% of the total number of mobile base stations, an increase of 7 percentage points compared with December 2021, and 887,000 new 5G base stations were built throughout the year.
In terms of Internet access devices, as of December 2022, the proportion of Internet users in our country using mobile phones to access the Internet has reached 99.8%, which is extremely terrifying.
In comparison with PC data, there is an obvious gap. The proportions of using desktop computers and notebook computers to access the Internet are 34.2% and 32.8% respectively.
In terms of online time, as of December 2022, the average weekly online time of Chinese netizens will be 26.7 hours, a decrease of 1.8 hours from December 2021.
