  1. I want to do the opposite … replace the Realtek audio driver with the generic Microsoft driver. Reason being is that when I pause / resume playback of a video on a media player, the volume sometimes jumps up when using the Realtek driver. This doesn't happen with the Microsoft driver. (There are numerous forum threads about this problem.)

    Usually I can manage to get Windows to offer the generic driver, but for some reason one of my WIndows 11 computers won't offer it.
