Polestar is a major competitor in the EV Sedan space with Tesla being their main competitor. Quite a few people here at LMG test-drove the Polestar and considered buying it, but ended up going with the Model 3 instead. Alex took the 2023 Polestar 2 with performance package to see if he would buy one or if this doesn’t quite hit the mark.

I test drove this car yesterday and it was a beast. I love it, might have to buy it
polestar body is nicer than tesla. but still not worth the price
Can you explain what's wrong with Android Automotive on the Polestar in more detail? I'm curious what made you think it's lacking. I thought the software was pretty awesome when I test drove one.
Idk what he means anonymous I've rented this car for 2 weeks now and girls and guys just come talking to me about the car …
Four commercials + sponsor content in a 16-minutes video? 😂
I like this car a lot but I can't bring myself to buy it for one big reason. Polestar is owned by Volvo. Volvo is owned by Geely. Geely is a Chinese company and all of these cars are made in China.
Why are you reviewing the old version?
Stop calling these Polestars and go back to admitting they are overpriced Volvos
You burn coal to generate electricity
Your left arm should be on the wheel, not resting. Who th drives with their right arm?
Nobody should drive with both arms rested…
And who cares about android auto?
Never in my life have I used the arm rest while driving. Is this just me? Seems like it would only be useful for highway driving in the prairies where you're driving straight for 100 km.
I can't stand all these overpriced cheap ass EV cars. I want an EV as a daily for my next purchase (just got 2024 Hybrid CRV) and I liked the pics of this car but, easy pass… what a pos.
تمام
How tall are you ?? I feel like that’s good Knowledge if you keep talking about space lol 4:20
Never heard of this car
This video is so so quiet 🙁
Good
"…initial come on…" "Uhhhhhh"
I'm in this camp. Short story is it's too expensive and Tesla charging
❤❤❤❤❤
I would rather buy the model 3 Performance at that price.
No real spare tire? fail!
If it has auto steering your hands wont be on the steering wheel when you're driving thus no need for the arm rest😂
holy shit i felt like I was the wheel when you started driving. That amount of noise is insane!!
way too much money for this car…..needs major upgrade enhancements
YA THEY RUSHED this car and did not beta test the comfort options
See, here's the thing. I was thinking of buying one of these but with all the issues that I've heard people talk about on the day to day usage, I couldn't bring myself to get one
3:26 made me think my oled monitor had dead pixels
Reviewing an EV without discussing its range and charging is like reviewing KFC without eating the chicken
Styling for the sake of styling. The damper adjustments are priceless, welcome back to the 60s.
This thing is avg at best, it feels great if u test drive this car coming in from a 10 year old ice car, but if you test drive 4-5 other EVs same week, it just falls apart.
At first it appeared to tick all the boxes, hatchback, styling, range, power.
It was more cramped (especially in the back) than my old Civiv, plastics on back door were hard and cheep, the fake wood was just really cheep plastic with a grain pattern on it, material in the boot was super cheep same as my old civic but that was 18K when new, and the "leather" is not even in the same league as the ionic5, seat comfort avg at best.
Accelerator pedal was weird, kept changing the way it worked, on parking had to press 80% just to go a bit which freaked me out as i thought that was going to slam into the other cars parked across it. For 402hp it felt very underpowered compared to Kia EV6.
Brakes & steering with catastrophically numb. Suspension was avg at best and small amount of cargo storage with seats up.
I did like the touch screen, it was ok and well laid out, glass roof was nice, and the touch reading flood lights were really cool.
Price quoted to me was 20K usd higher than a the AWD ev6 Kia, which had better range, so its a pass.
Oh I feel the pain with armrest on the door. I drive a Ford Focus and I'm a pretty tall guy at 6'3 and I either have to sit in a very awkward position or leave my arm on the armrest and my arm and especially my elbow is completely sore from the no padding whatsoever. A bonus is that my armrest is also made of squeaky plastic, yay
The problem is it's just a more expensive Tesla in most cases. Only worth it if you're going for the highest end model and don't care about the extra price. But then you can just get a model S so idk lol.
I would have a Polestar 2 over a Tesla ANY DAY. Especially with the updated one, should have reviewed the 2024 model year.
I almost got a PS2 but got a EV6 instead
